Abstract: We construct irreducible modules V α (α∈ℂ) over the $ algebra with central charge c=− 2 in terms of a free bosonic field. We prove that these modules exhaust all the irreducible modules of the $ algebra with c=− 1. Highest weights of modules $ $ with respect to the full (two-dimensional) Cartan subalgebra of the $ algebra are $ . They are parametrized by points (t, w) on a rational curve $ Irreducible modules of the vertex algebra $ with c=− 1 are also classified.
