Notizen:
Summary Intracellular measurings on the frogs's ventricle in situ when under the influence of oxytocin show characteristic changes: decrease in the resting- and action potentials of the membrane, diminution in duration of action potentials, prolonged period and reduction of the number of heartbeats. Oxytocin consequently does not only act depolarising on the smooth but also on the striated muscular system. Different, however, and therfore not to be explained exclusively by changes in the membrane, is the action of oxytocin on the contractability of the uterine muscle on the one hand and on the myocardium on the other. The unspecific action of oxytocin on the membrane suggests a universal action of this neurohormone, depending on concentration.
