Résumé Dans une expérience de laboratoire, nous avons étudié l'effet de la fatigue induite par la prise orale de 5 mg de Diazepam sur la fréquence critique de fusion (FCF). En même temps, nous avons examiné l'effet du médicament sur l'évaluation subjective de la sensation de fatigue à l'aide d'un questionnaire bipolaire. Le traitement au Diazepam provoqua une chute significative de la FCF (p〈0,01), ainsi qu'une déviation des classements subjectifs vers les pôles exprimant la fatigue. Le calcul des coefficients de Spearman révéla des corrélations significatives (p〈0,01) entre la baisse de la FCF et les paires de pôles opposés «dispos — fatigué», «éveillé — endormi», «fort — affaibli» et «en bonne forme — épuisé». Ceci signifie que des sujets accusant une chute marquée de la FCF présentent également une déviation très accentuée de l'évaluation subjective en direction de la fatigue.
Abstract:
Summary A laboratory study was made to investigate the effect of fatigue induced by the oral intake of 5 mg of diazepam on the critical flicker fusion frequency (CFF). At the same time a subjective assessment of the effect of the drug was obtained with the aid of a bipolar questionnaire. The doses caused a significant decrease in the CFF (p〈0.01), as well as a shift towards tiredness in self-assessment. Significant correlations (p〈0.01), using the method of Spearman, exist between the decrease of the CFF and the opposing pairs “refreshed — tired”, “awake — sleepy”, “strong — weak” and “vigorous — exhausted”. This means that people showing a sharp decrease in the CFF distinctly put themselves in the category of fatigue mentioned in the four paired words above.

Zusammenfassung In einem Laborversuch wurde die Wirkung der durch orale Einnahme von 5 mg Diazepam erzeugten Müdigkeit auf die Flimmerverschmelzungsfrequenz (FVF) und auf die subjektive Einstufung des Befindens unter Verwendung eines bipolaren Fragebogens untersucht. Die medikamentöse Behandlung erzeugte einen signifikanten Abfall der FVF (p〈0,01) sowie eine Verschiebung der Selbsteinschätzung in Richtung Ermüdung. Signifikante Korrelationen nach Spearaman (p〈0,01) bestehen zwischen dem Abfall der FVF und den Gegensatzpaaren «frisch — müde», «wach — schläfrig», «stark — geschwächt» und «gekräftigt — erschöpft», was bedeutet, daß Personen mit einem starken Abfall der FVF sich auch subjektiv in den vier obengenannten Wortpaaren ausgeprägt in Richtung Müdigkeit einstufen.
