    Abstract: Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by an extra abnormal presence of the 21st chromosome. Some abilities related to motor function are extensive, for example, lack of postural control, gait abnormality, and lack of balance and coordination. In addition, postural changes in Down syndrome may occur due to the difficulty of perception of responses, which impairs the feeling of the limb position and limb movements. Hippotherapy (HT) is a physical treatment, and it is defined as equine-assisted treatment in which horse movement promotes physical and physiological improvements. Strategic placement of lightweight on the torso using the balance-based torso-weighting (BBTW) method has improved stability and reduced falls in people with cerebellar ataxia but has not been tested in Down syndrome. Therefore, we examined whether torso-weighting increased standing stability and or functional movement in children with DS. A total of 30 subjects with Down syndrome were taken and grouped into two groups, with group A- 15 subjects treated with hippotherapy and group B-15 subjects treated with balanced-based torso-weighting. The baseline measurement was taken using Berg's balance scale and the time up and test (TUG test). Statistical package for social science (SPSS) version 24. The paired t-test was to find the statistical difference within the groups & Independent t-test (Student t- Test) was adopted to see the statistical difference between the groups. The procedure is done by performing hippotherapy for 4 times a week for 12 weeks for group A, and balanced-based torso weighting is performed for 4 times a week for 12 weeks for group B. Children medically diagnosed with DS and with IQ less than 50 were excluded from the study. In this study, hippo therapy with conventional treadmill training gives a better improvement in a patient with down syndrome when compared with balance-based torso weighting with conventional treadmill training. Hence, hippo therapy with conventional treadmill training would be the better treatment for down syndrome.

    Abstract: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is one of the most common female endocrinological disorder which is a complex multifaceted heterogeneous disorder affecting approximately 5%-10% of respondents of reproductive age, endocrine and metabolic function. The patients with PCOS have elevated triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein (LPL) cholesterol levels and low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels. Exercise combined Aerobic and Resistance exercise improves insulin sensitivity and glycaemic control, reduces abdominal fat in women and modified with diet is considered to be preferred as the first-line treatment for PCOS management with the primary goal to normalize serum androgen and to restore reproductive function. The aim of the study was to find the effect of comparison of short-term structured exercise in non-over weight and overweight subjects with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This experimental study design with a total of 30 subjects were taken by simple random sampling method at Outpatient Physiotherapy Department, ACS Medial college and hospital, vellapanchavadi, chennai. The subjects included were those with secondary amenorrhoea, body hair growing on the chest, belly, face and around the nipples, decreased breast size irregular periods, male-like characteristics, enlargement of the clitoris, male-pattern baldness, acne, cysts on the ovaries, Overweight, skin tags, anxiety or depression, hoarseness of voice, dark or thick skin markings and creases around the armpits groin, neck and breasts, dandruff patches on skin on the neck, arm, breasts, thigh, pelvic pain, sleep apnea, age group with 18-25,unmarried women, BMI ranging between 18-25. The subjects excluded were those with diabetes, thyroid, adrenal or pituitary gland dysfunction obese women, undergoing medications, seizures, hypertension ,cardiac patients, psychological problems, fracture, Non co-operative patients, age group( 〈 18 and 〉 25),neurological problems ,low back ache, married women, pelvic inflammatory disease, urinary tract infection, recent abdominal surgery . The outcome measure is measured by (PCOSQ-50) questionnaire and BMI scale. Group-A consisted of Overweight subjects and Group-B consisted of Non-over weight subjects and both the groups received Aerobic and Resistance training along with dietary plans for 56 days with 3 sessions per week on consecutive days. The PCOSQ-50 questionnaire was used. Result On comparing the mean values of Group A and Group B among BMI and PCOSQ-50 Questionnaire Group A shows (23.16) and (100.91) which has the lower mean value of BMI and PCOS Q50 (100.9) is more effective than group B BMI (27.01) and PCOSQ-50 (109.8). Exercise along with dietary plan shows greater improvement among subjects in Group-A (Overweight) with polycystic ovarian syndrome than Group B.

    Abstract: This study aimed at analyzing the literature systematically  on the reliability of Cobb’s angle in measurement  of kyphosis. Cobb’s angle is the most widely used measurement to quantify spinal deformity. Kyphosis is the spinal disorder in which an excessive outwards of the spine results in an abnormal rounding of the upper back. Cobb’s angle used as standard measurement to determine and trackthe progression of scoliosis andkyphosis. Hence the purpose of the meta-analysis is to analyze the reliability of Cobb’s angle in a measurement of kyphosis Systematic searches in PubMed, Science direct, Google scholar, Cochrane library, Research Gate for systematic review was done. Research article and review article were selected within the published 1999 – 2020. The study design is Meta-analysis study of Analytical type. Study quality was done by PEDro Scale The study duration is about 4 months. A Meta-analysis was conducted  by using Medical software to obtain a summary estimate of the standardized  mean difference  and 95% confidence limit. 100 articles taken for review in which finally 35 articles were summarized. Almost all the study shows that there was a highly significant difference  on measurement  of kyphosis using COBB’S angle. Outcome of measurement  has excellent reliability with the small range of standard error of measurement.  Cobb’s measurement  had excellent reliability when used to measure kyphosis. The findings confirm the significance and the ease of using this method.
