    Notes: Summary In the present study two patients with aldosterone-producing adrenal carcinomas are reported. The clinical features were characterized by hypertension and severe hypokalemia with muscular weakness, flaccid paralysis of arms and legs, diarrhea and polyuria. In both cases excessively high plasma aldosterone levels and suppressed plasma renin activity were found. In contrast to most other cases with aldosterone-secreting tumours plasma cortisol, urinary free cortisol excretion, 17-hydroxy- and 17-ketosteroids were in the normal range. There was no clinical evidence of oversecretion of sex hormones. After adrenalectomy blood pressure and serum potassium normalized and the clinical symptoms disappeared. Plasma aldosterone and urinary aldosterone secretion returned to normal, while plasma renin activity remained low. Three and a half and 6 months later primary aldosteronism and the associated clinical symptoms reappeared due to hormonally active metastases. After introducing the antitumour drug o,p′-DDD in patient 1 aldosterone secretion normalized and the clinical status of the patient markedly improved. However, 10 months after diagnosis the patient died due to a haemorrhage from a liver metastasis. In patient 2 tumour-invaded regional lymph nodes were surgically removed with only minor changes in the hormone pattern.

    Notes: Mit einer neu entwickelten, 20-stufigen Mikro-Zonenschmelz-Apparatur wurde systematisch - vor allem unter Berücksichtigung des für das Zonenschmelzen wichtigen Schmelzdiagrammes - das „Zonentrennen“ von Mischkristall-Systemen homologer Fettalkohole studiert. Ein Gemisch von 20% Eikosanol und 80% Hexakosanol konnte präparativ getrennt werden; aus 28,5 mg des Gemisches wurden 9,6 mg reines Hexakosanol erhalten.

    Notes: Stapelogenin, C21H30O4, shows a double bond and two hydroxyl groups which can be acetylated. On the grounds of UV.-, IR.-, and NMR-spectra as well as mass spectra, the probable structure is that of a 3β, 12β-dihydroxy-(18, 20β), (14β, 20α)-diepoxy-Δ5-pregnene (1). The exact position of the hydroxyl group, assumed to be 12β, is particularly unsure, as it could also be situated 11α- or 12α-position.

(A pocynaceae) isolierte «dimere» Indolalkaloid Macralstonin lässt sich durch verdünnte Salzsäure in die Villalstonin-Spaltbase Macrolin (8) und das ebenfalls aus Alstonia macrophylla isolierte Alkaloid Alstophyllin (2) spalten. Daraus und auf Grund spektroskopischer Untersuchungen (UV.-, IR.-, NMR.-, Massenspektren) wird für Macralstonin die Struktur 1 abgeleitet.

    Description: Ziel und Zweck dieser Arbeit ist es, mit Hilfe von netztheoretischen Untersuchungsverfahren ein bestimmtes Verkehrsnetz – das Eisenbahnnetz des Bundeslandes Niedersachsen – von mehreren Blickrichtungen aus quantitativ zu bestimmen und festzulegen. Durch das zahlenmäßige Erfassen der Struktur des Netzes wird es möglich, a) zeitliche und b) räumliche Unterschiede in der Netzgestalt zu ermitteln und zu interpretieren, c) ihre Abhängigkeit vom dazugehörigen Raum zu analysieren und d) schließlich den Versuch zu unternehmen, ein Modell für eine ökonomisch raumordnerisch optimale Lösung für die bestehenden Verkehrsbedürfnisse zu konstruieren.
