    Abstract: Many measurements at the LHC require efficient identification of heavy-flavour jets, i.e. jets originating from bottom (b) or charm (c) quarks. An overview of the algorithms used to identify c jets is described and a novel method to calibrate them is presented. This new method adjusts the entire distributions of the outputs obtained when the algorithms are applied to jets of different flavours. It is based on an iterative approach exploiting three distinct control regions that are enriched with either b jets, c jets, or light-flavour and gluon jets. Results are presented in the form of correction factors evaluated using proton-proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 41.5 fb -1 at  √s = 13 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment in 2017. The closure of the method is tested by applying the measured correction factors on simulated data sets and checking the agreement between the adjusted simulation and collision data. Furthermore, a validation is performed by testing the method on pseudodata, which emulate various mismodelling conditions. The calibrated results enable the use of the full distributions of heavy-flavour identification algorithm outputs, e.g. as inputs to machine-learning models. Thus, they are expected to increase the sensitivity of future physics analyses.

    Abstract: In this paper, we construct picture fuzzy EDAS model based on traditional EDAS (Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution) model. Firstly, we briefly review the definition of picture fuzzy sets (PFSs) and introduce the score function, accuracy function and operational laws of picture fuzzy numbers (PFNs). Then, we combine traditional EDAS model for MCGDM with PFNs. In our model, it’s more accuracy and effective for considering the conflicting attributes. Finally, a numerical example for green supplier selection has been given to illustrate this new model and some comparisons between EDAS model with PFNs and PFWA, PFWG aggregation operators are also conducted to further illustrate advantages of the new method.

    Abstract: Since people around the world have gradually attached importance to resource conservation, various countries are actively taking measures to promote environmental protection and sustainable development. Green supply chain management (GSCM) have emerged in this context. Thus, in this essay, a novel intuitionistic fuzzy multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) method is designed to tackle this issue. First of all, CRITIC (Criteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation) method is utilized to determine the weights of criteria. Later, the conventional Taxonomy method is extended to the intuitionistic fuzzy environment to compute the value of development attribute of each supplier. Then, the optimal one can be determined. Eventually, an application about green supplier selection in steel industry is presented, and a comparative analysis is made to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method. The main features of the proposed algorithm are that they provide a practical solution for selecting GSCM and presents an objective weighting method to enhance the effectiveness of the algorithm.

    Abstract: The semiconductor tracker (SCT) is one of the tracking systems for charged particles in the ATLAS detector. It consists of 4088 silicon strip sensor modules. During Run 2 (2015–2018) the Large Hadron Collider delivered an integrated luminosity of 156 fb -1 to the ATLAS experiment at a centre-of-mass proton-proton collision energy of 13 TeV. The instantaneous luminosity and pile-up conditions were far in excess of those assumed in the original design of the SCT detector. Due to improvements to the data acquisition system, the SCT operated stably throughout Run 2. It was available for 99.9% of the integrated luminosity and achieved a data-quality efficiency of 99.85%. Detailed studies have been made of the leakage current in SCT modules and the evolution of the full depletion voltage, which are used to study the impact of radiation damage to the modules.

    Abstract: Cucumber ( Cucumis sativus L.) is an important economic vegetable crop worldwide that is susceptible to various common pathogens, including powdery mildew (PM), downy mildew (DM), and Fusarium wilt (FM). In cucumber breeding programs, identifying disease resistance and related molecular markers is generally a top priority. PM, DM, and FW are the major diseases of cucumber in China that cause severe yield losses and the genetic-based cucumber resistance against these diseases has been developed over the last decade. Still, the molecular mechanisms of cucumber disease resistance remain unclear. In this review, we summarize recent findings on the inheritance, molecular markers, and quantitative trait locus mapping of cucumber PM, DM, and FM resistance. In addition, several candidate genes, such as PM, DM, and FM resistance genes, with or without functional verification are reviewed. The data help to reveal the molecular mechanisms of cucumber disease resistance and provide exciting new opportunities for further resistance breeding.

    Abstract: Excessive fluoride intake from residential environments may affect multiple tissues and organs; however, the specific pathogenic mechanisms are unclear. Researchers have recently focused on the damaging effects of fluoride on the immune system. Damage to immune function seriously affects the quality of life of fluoride-exposed populations and increases the incidence of infections and malignant tumors. Probing the mechanism of damage to immune function caused by fluoride helps identify effective drugs and methods to prevent and treat fluorosis and improve people’s living standards in fluorosis-affected areas. Here, the recent literature on the effects of fluoride on the immune system is reviewed, and research on fluoride damage to the immune system is summarized in terms of three perspectives: immune organs, immune cells, and immune-active substances. We reviewed that excessive fluoride can damage immune organs, lead to immune cells dysfunction and interfere with the expression of immune-active substances. This review aimed to provide a potential direction for future fluorosis research from the perspective of fluoride-induced immune function impairment. In order to seek the key regulatory indicators of fluoride on immune homeostasis in the future.

    Abstract: The Fuyun Fault is a typical intraplate, slow-slipping fault, but has been repeatedly ruptured by surface wave magnitude ( M s ) ≥ 8.0 earthquakes. The 11 August 1931 M s 8.0 Fuyun earthquake resulted in more than 10,000 casualties in the sparsely populated Fuyun area. Cosmogenic 10 Be dating of offset landforms produced by prehistoric M s ≥ 8.0 earthquakes yields an average recurrence interval of 9,700 ± 3,300 years, much longer than previously estimated 2,000–4,500 years, clouding our understanding of the timing and recurrence behavior of past earthquakes originating from the Fuyun Fault. Reflection seismic data reveal widely distributed subaquatic faults in Yileimu Lake, implying high sensitivity of the lake sediments to paleoearthquakes originating from the Fuyun Fault. Two new long sediment cores (Y20A: 267 cm; Y20B: 890 cm) together with previously published two short cores (Y19: 71 cm; Y20: 31.5 cm) from the depocenter and nearshore zone of Yileimu Lake are used for stratigraphic correlations and analyses of sedimentary structures, grain-size distributions, magnetic susceptibility, elemental composition and carbon content. The mass-wasting deposits with underlying soft-sediment deformation structures (SSDS) in the Y20B core indicate six siliciclastic-enriched sandy sediment fluxes from earthquake-triggered landslides of granitic rocks, and isolated SSDS record three additional earthquake-induced in situ deformations. Turbidite-like deposits with sorting indices & gt;3 and Si contents & gt;700 counts per second (cps) are comparable to those of the seismic mass-wasting deposits, and are thus interpreted as seismites from earthquake-induced re-deposition of nearshore sediments. There are a total of 20 seismic events recorded by the Y20B core. Seismic intensity calculation results, combined with historical seismic data, provide potential magnitudes of M s ≥ 8.0, M s ≥ 7.0, and M s ≥ 5.5 for the earthquake-triggered mass-wasting deposits, SSDS, and turbidite-like seismites, respectively, in Yileimu Lake, generally consistent with previously published magnitude thresholds. Radiocarbon dating and stratigraphic correlations constrain the timing of these past earthquakes to ∼28 cal kyr BP. This unique, long lacustrine paleoseismic record suggests a weakly periodic pattern with recurrence intervals between 2,317 and 7,830 years and an average of 5,303 years for potential M s ≥ 8.0 earthquakes, and reveals an unprecedented high frequency of potential M s ≥ 7.0 earthquakes originating from the Fuyun Fault in the last 5 kyr, demonstrating the urgent need for an improved assessment of seismic hazards and risks in the Fuyun Fault zone.

    Abstract: Financial management performance evaluation (FMPE) has a significant effect on the identifying an investment chance. We can usually consider FMPE as a multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) issue, and the MAGDM method is needed to address it. Uncertainty may be one of the significant factors which could influence the process of MAGDM. In order to handle the uncertainty of group decision-making issues, MAGDM approaches along with 2-tuple linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy sets (2TLPFSs) have been designed. In this essay, CODAS method is extended to 2TLPFSs to tackle MAGDM issues. Linguistic variables and 2TLPFSs are also used to extend the CODAS method. An application of the presented 2-tuple linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy CODAS (2TLPF-CODAS) method to a case study of FMPE problem with 2-tuple linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (2TLPFNs) is given. To confirm the results, a comparative analysis between the fuzzy CODAS and 2TLPF-TODIM is performed. The results of the comparison illustrate that the presented 2TLPF-CODAS method offers effective and steady results.
