Description: Author(s): Man Ho Chan We show that modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND) is equivalent to assuming an isothermal dark matter density profile, with its density related to the enclosed total baryonic mass. This density profile can be deduced by physical laws if a dark matter core exists and if the baryonic component is spheri... [Phys. Rev. D 88, 103501] Published Mon Nov 04, 2013

Description: Author(s): Man Ho Chan Recent studies of radio data put strong constraints on annihilation cross sections for dark matter. In this article, we provide the first analysis of using M33 radio data in constraining annihilating dark matter. The resulting constraints of annihilation cross sections for some channels are more str... [Phys. Rev. D 96, 043009] Published Wed Aug 16, 2017

Description: Author(s): Man Ho Chan Recently, an excess of high-energy positrons in our Galaxy has been observed by AMS-02. The spectrum obtained can be best fitted with the annihilation of ∼ TeV dark matter particles. However, recent analysis of dwarf galaxies by Fermi/LAT observations highly constrains the TeV dark matter annihilatio… [Phys. Rev. D 92, 083504] Published Fri Oct 02, 2015

Description: Author(s): Man Ho Chan Recent gamma-ray observations and radio observations put strong constraints on the parameters of dark matter annihilation. In this article, we derive new constraints for six standard model annihilation channels by using the recent radio data of the M31 galaxy. The new constraints are generally tight… [Phys. Rev. Description: Galaxies, Vol. 6, Pages 92: Relieving Tensions Related to the Dark Matter Interpretation of the Fermi-LAT Data Galaxies doi: 10.3390/galaxies6030092 Authors: Man Ho Chan Recently, many studies indicate that the GeV gamma ray excess signal from the central Milky Way can be best explained by ∼40–50 GeV dark matter annihilating via the b b ¯ channel. However, this model appears to be disfavored by the recent Fermi-LAT data for dwarf spheroidal galaxies and the constraint from synchrotron radiation. In this article, we describe a consistent picture to relieve the tensions between the dark matter annihilation model and the observations. We show that a baryonic feedback process is the key to alleviate the tensions and the ∼40–50 GeV dark matter model is still the best one to account for the GeV gamma ray excess in the Milky Way.
