Notes: Two classes of spherically symmetric solutions to the empty space Einstein equations in even dimensions are presented. The solutions are constructed as radial extensions of circle bundles over a compact homogeneous Kähler manifold M. Type B solutions can be turned into higher-dimensional Kaluza–Klein monopoles. Both the Gross–Perry–Sorkin solution and the Bais–Batenburg solutions are contained as special cases of the general solutions.

Notes: Abstract In this paper, we propose a competition-share 3-category principle, on which we unite the problems of natural resources, energy, population and environment and so on into a mutual scheme, and provide a united model for the comprehensive research on these problems. This makes the idea of operation analysis of natural resources clearer and the relationships between each of their parts more obvious. On the basis of the above discussion, we propose mathematical models for the operation analysis of multi-networks and the solution of the above global comprehensive problems. We discuss, especially, Shengke (growth and restraint) relationships between two networks of natural resources and share-competitors and their analysis models, providing mathematical tools for solving the problems of the resource-population and the resource-economy, etc.

Notes: Graft copolymers were synthesized by the esterification reaction between acrylic copolymers and carboxyl group terminated vinylpyrrolidone oligomer using phase transfer catalysts. Acrylic copolymers were obtained by the radical copolymerization of β-bromoethyl methacrylate, chloromethylstyrene or glycidyl methacrylate with methyl methacrylate. Hydrophilic oligomers were prepared by the radical oligomerization of vinylpyrrolidone using β-mercaptopropionic acid as chain transfer agent. The degree of esterification increased with decreasing the molecular weight of oligomer and with increasing the number of potential grafting sites on polymer backbones. The water dispersibility of graft copolymers increased with increasing the nitrogen content and was therefore dependent on the branch oligomer content.
