Résumé Les auteurs ont examiné la fréquence des états maniaques parmi les premières admissions dans un hôpital psychiatrique suisse qui dessert une population de 500'000 habitants, et ceci pour une durée de 25 ans (1940–1964). Ils constatent que, par rapport au mouvement de la population, la fréquence des hospitalisations n'a pas varié.
Abstract:
Zusammenfassung Die Verfasser haben die Häufigkeit manischer Zustände unter den Erstaufnahmen einer schweizerischen Psychiatrischen Klinik ermittelt, die eine Bevölkerung von 500 000 Einwohnern versorgt. Sie stellten fest, daß sich die Anzahl der Hospitalisierungen pro 100 000 Einwohner während den Jahren 1940 bis 1964 nicht verändert hat.

Summary The authors have calculated the frequency of manic states among first admissions to a Swiss psychiatric hospital serving a population of 500,000 people. They have established that the rates of hospitalisation per 100,000 population did not change during the years 1940 to 1964.
