Zusammenfassung Die bisher zum Zweck des Vorratsschutzes beim Getreide angewandten Giftgase sind in ihrer Anwendung gefährlich und führen häufig zu unerwünschten Rückständen. Dagegen ist die Anwendung von Kohlendioxid gefahrlos, umweltfreundlich uns sicher in der Handhabung. Mit einer Aufwandmenge von ca. 19–27 kg/t Getreide ist im Zeitraum von 4–6 Wochen (bei 8–20°C) eine vollständige Abtötung der Insekten möglich.

Abstract The gases traditionally used in the storage of grain are high toxic and leads to the formation of undesirable residues. On the other hand Carbondioxide is compatible with the environment, safe and without any risk in the use. Each ton grain requires about 19–27 kg Carbondioxide to reach complete mortality of insects within 4–6 weeks.
