Notes: Summary In the right atrium of the heart of the golden hamster histology, enzyme histochemistry, and formaldehyde-induced fluorescence reveal conductive tissue, which does not belong to the SA or AV node. Morphology, metabolism, vascularisation, and innervation of this tissue are the same as in the other regions of the impulse conducting system. The functional significance of the additional nodal tissue is discussed.
