Abstract:
Pistachio twig borer [Kermania pistacella Ams. (Lep: Tineidae)] is one of the kinds that make economical damage and it is found in all pistachio cultivation areas. The pest reside in winter in one-year tillers and cause product loss directly, the tillers remain undeveloped and fruit buds on damaged tillers are collapsed. It also damages the pistachio clusters called cumba as second damage. The larva gets into the clusters and cause damage at cluster stems and that prevents development of fruits and as a result the fruits are collapsed. In this study, we investigated parasitoids of K. pistaciella larvae and pupae. With this study; some parasitoits of K. pistaciella have been determined. By this way, the propitious moment and affective threatment about using pesticide will be used to control K. pistaciella, together with the environment and parasitoids will be protected and both farmer and country economy will be maintained by decreasing the usage of pesticides and control the pest at the right time.
