    Abstract: In recent years, teachers and students at Shanghai Theatre Academy did several community-based theatre projects among the migrant workers and their families who came from the Chinese countryside. When we applied Augusto Boal's techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed, we found that many community members prefer performing their dreams to performing their unpleasant reality.
