Abstract:
Cotton ( Gossypium hirsutum ) fibre quality and yield often decline sharply when infected with various diseases and insects. Here, we identified a locus which links two non‐specific lipid transfer proteins in cotton. The divergent tissue expression of the genes in the roots and leaves coordinated resistance of cotton to pathogens and insects via redirection of metabolic flux.
