Abstract:
Base compositional feature gave rise to five distinct trends in bacteria. Trend I organisms show purine dominance in leading strands of replication. The study examines protein composition in Bacillus as a case study of Trend I. Purine asymmetry imparts strand‐specific biases in amino acid usage in Bacillus . Strand‐specific bias also affects pI and surface charge distribution of proteins.
