Abstract:
Clustering and distributions of telomeres were examined throughout spermatogenesis in zebrafish, in combination with immunostaining for synaptonemal complex protein 3. A telomere cluster called the "telomere bouquet" was formed during the leptotene stage in zebrafish. Analysis of meiotic prophase I mutants confirmed that meiotic telomere clustering is independent of axial element formation of the synaptonemal complex.
