Beschreibung:    The enzymatic hydrolysis of urea contained in an oil-displacing composition by the action of plant urease has been studied. Optimal ratios of urea to natural urease-containing sources have been determined for the intense hydrolysis accompanied by the release of CO 2 , which reduces the viscosity of crude oil, and ammonia, which forms an alkaline buffer system, thereby increasing the detergent properties of the composition. The effect of hydrolysis products on the rheological characteristics of heavy crude from the Usa oil-field has been examined. The recovery of viscous crude oil from a model reservoir using the oil-displacing composition and urease has been investigated. Beschreibung:    The conversion of an ethylene-pentane mixture over HZSM-5 zeolite (Si/Al = 35) modified with molybdenum and boron has been studied. The texture, dispersion, and structure of the catalyst have been determined by instrumental methods. The modification with molybdenum leads to an increase in both the activity of the catalyst in the conversion of the ethylene-pentane mixture and the yield of C 5 –C 9 isoparaffins and aromatic hydrocarbons with high octane numbers. The ratio of isoparaffins and aromatic hydrocarbons in the products on the catalyst that contains molybdenum and boron depends upon the reaction conditions. Beschreibung:    The kinetics of the dimerization of α-methylstyrene in the presence of high-silica zeolite HNaY has been studied, and a nine-stage scheme of the monomer conversion has been developed. Analysis of the kinetic models developed in the form of the Langmuir-Hinshelwood relationships and in terms of the mass action law has shown that the first model more adequately describes the experimental data. The numerical values of kinetic and adsorption parameters are represented. Content Type Journal Article Pages 426-431 DOI 10.1134/S0965544112060047 Authors A. V. Beschreibung:    Volatile products of the two-step (400, 650°C) flash pyrolysis of Ivanovskoe asphaltite from Oren-burg oblast, its asphaltenes, oils, and benzene and benzene-ethanol resins have been characterized by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry ( GCMS ) in the on-line mode. The “unresolvable complex mixture” of nonidentifiable compounds prevails at both temperatures. The compositions of identified compounds in the products obtained at 400 and 650°C substantially differ, especially, for resins and asphaltenes. At 650°C, the products for all the samples are characterized by the same set of compounds including homologues of alkanes; α-olefins; cyclohexanes; pregnanes and steranes, cheilanthanes and hopanes; hopenes; mono-, bi-, and tricyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; and benzo- and dibenzothiophenes. This finding confirms that most of these compounds occur in the “bound” form as structural units of molecules of resinous-asphaltenic components of the natural asphaltite. Beschreibung:    A new type of high-performance capillary columns for gas chromatography, monolithic capillary columns, have been studied, which are characterized by a high loading capacity, a high efficiency, and good deactivation of the capillary wall as early as the step of preparing a monolithic stationary phase. The feasibility of separation of both gaseous and liquid samples at a high carrier-gas pressure has been shown. The influence of temperature programming on the separation properties of the monolithic columns has been examined, and it has been shown that temperature programming on monolithic columns is a convenient and effective means of accelerating gas chromatographic determination of compounds of many classes. Beschreibung:    The routes of transformation of vegetable oils under catalytic cracking conditions have been investigated. The influence of the component composition of the catalyst on distribution of the desired cracking products and their chemical group composition has been revealed. It has been shown that introduction of H-ZSM-5 zeolite into the composition of the oil cracking catalyst promotes the formation of C 2 -C 4 light olefins—the yield of propylene and butylene mainly increases. During cracking on bizeolites catalysts, high yields of both gasoline fractions and light olefins are observed. The relationship between the unsaturation index of the vegetable oils and the product distribution during their catalytic cracking has been established. Oils with a high index of unsaturation are cracked on the bizeolite catalyst yielding primarily mono- and polyaromatic hydrocarbons. Beschreibung:    The catalytic activity of the Pd(PPh 3 ) 4 -TsOH and Pd(PPh 3 ) 4 -PPh 3 -TsOH systems in the reaction of isobutylene hydromenthoxycarbonylation with carbon monoxide and l -menthol has been examined. It has been found that the reaction proceeds regioselectively yielding the linear product l -menthyl isovalerate. Optimal conditions have been found for running the process. The spatial structure of l -menthyl isovalerate synthesized via the isobutylene hydromenthoxycarbonylation reaction has been established by 1 H and 13 C NMR techniques. Beschreibung:    O -Alkylation of pyrocatechol with 4-chloromethyl-1,3-dioxolane has been investigated. The ether formation selectivity is largely determined by the structure of the reactants and the conditions of the process. The inhibiting effect of the synthesized ortho-substituted phenols has been examined in the model system of radical chain oxidation of 1,4-dioxane. Beschreibung:    The present study exports a regression equation which describes the variation of humidity and reduction conductivity of JP8 (F34) with time. A hydrophilic polymer is used to eliminate humidity from JP8 and the regression analysis shows that the maximum decrease of humidity in an hour it is of about ∼39% and conductivity’s in two hours it is of about ∼36% respectively. The elimination of humidity makes the fuel suitable for car machines and gives combustion with less pollution for the environment. Thus, the quality of the fuel as well as its combustion efficiency can be improved while the reduction of water concentration enhances the secure of the combustion machine’s operation. Beschreibung:    Assignment of 13 C NMR signals of compounds with ethyl, n -propyl, n -butyl, n -amyl, and n -C 6+ alkyl substituents in different positions of carbon chains in the spectra of saturated hydrocarbon fractions of crude oils and in the spectra of crude oils, taking into account the dependence of chemical shifts on the recording temperature, the concentration of the test solution. and the composition of the object of study, has been proposed. The capabilities of the 13 C NMR technique as applied to determination of this almost unexplored group of hydrocarbons in crude oils have been discussed.
