Abstract: The article offers the research results on complex functions of the University scientific journal, as the institution of scientific-educational law. The category «University scientific journal» is proposed to be understood in the following contents. A university scientific journal is a variety of titles of periodical scientific publications (for example, journal, a bulletin, scientific notes) published by universities using their own organizational, material, financial and other resources, or in cooperation with other publishing houses, including scientific institutions. The main form of presentation of scientific information is articles of researchers and scientists. It is proved, that by their nature scientific journals have the multifunctional content. It is extrapolated to the set of many scientific tasks, and then to the educational and other functional activities of the University in accordance with the law. In this regard, scientific-educational law is considered as a route for a special part of such an integrated branch of law as information law. This allows determining the institutional components normatively, including the functions of the scientific journal of the University. They are proposed to be considered in the complex, interrelation, incorporation not only as part of the scientific and educational law, but also with other sub-branches of the special part of the information law and certain institutions of the latter. These institutes of information law are structured in its general and special parts. At the same time, it is proposed to consider the functions of the University scientific journal in system features. Consideration of the problems specified in the title of the publication topic focuses on legal components of the needs and interests of subjects of law, the ambiguity of understanding of the purpose of a scientific journal. Particular attention is paid to those that cause a conflict of interests between scientists, teachers, university managers, individual representatives of public administration bodies. This is relevant to those who perform administration, control, determine and implement State policy in the scientific and educational sphere of the country.

In: Theory and Practice of Teaching Ukrainian as a Foreign Language, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, , No. 17 ( 2023-7-21), p. 102-111
Abstract: The paper discusses a relevant topic for the Ukrainian linguistic didactics – a critical review of the articles published in the Polish journal «Studia Ucrainica Varsoviensia» for the 2013–2022 period (ten issues), and is dedicated to the journal’s anniversary. The analysis shows that the journal under consideration contains (1) scientific papers, (2) reviews, (3) informative reviews of events related to the issue of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language. However, the publications are irregular in nature. Scientific researches aspectually present the material on some important issues of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language. They run about (1) the formation of a phraseological minimum for all learning levels: this problem is extremely difficult and has not been resolved so far; (2) the specifics of the textual learning material selection taking into account its stylistic propriety and compliance with the learning level; (3) presentation of new concepts for compiling textbooks, manuals and learners’ dictionaries; (4) it is very positive that the scientific periodical focuses as well upon the presentation of the department’s activities reviews in relation to various forms and methods of working with foreign students, and new textbooks and dictionaries are promoted. Undoubtedly, the fact of publishing new didactic literature reviews deserves approval, but the reviews should contain more critical material, comments and wishes, and not be limited to retelling the content and indicating the advantages of the analyzed literature, i. e. perform an exclusively promoting function. Demands on expert reviewers are increasing in today’s world. A good start for the journal is the publication of reporting information on events that aim at teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language through short-term courses: the experience of organizing such events must be widely spread, promoting the positive points and drawing attention to the shortcomings. It is desirable that the editorial staff should introduce permanent sections in the journals related to the problems of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language, exchange of experiences, discussions, since not every issue contains relevant articles or reviews that could also be alternative, which would definitely have a positive effect. Key words: linguistic didactics, Ukrainian as a foreign language, textbook, manual, learner’s dictionary, review, journal “Studia Ucrainica Varsoviensia”.

Abstract: Introduction. There are discussed issues of women's access to law. At the time of the Judicial Reform in the Russian Empire in 1864, a Bar was established. Previously, there was no full-fledged institute of judicial protection because of the inquisitive nature of domestic justice. However, in practice, civil service and access to the judiciary, as well as higher legal education, were still closed to women. It was only after the first Russian revolution of 1905–1907 that the question of women's right to be engaged in professional legal activity was considered. They were allowed to higher education. Attempts to pursue a law degree have been made before. So, some Russian women graduated from foreign law departments and came to Russia to get a job in the profession. Despite the fact that diplomas of foreign universities did not equate to the certificates of Russian higher education institutions, they gave the right to take the state exam for the full course of the relevant Russian educational institution. The right of women to practice law became statutory on 1 June 1917. The Provisional Government issued a resolution "On admission of women to court cases", finally having put an end to all disputes and allowed women to fully join the legal community. The aim of the article is to cover the little-known biography of one of the first Ukrainian women lawyers, Elena Halperin-Ginsburg. Results. The article deals with the life and creative activity of one of the first Ukrainian women lawyers, Ginsburg Elena Abramivna. There is given a general overview of the scientific, educational and journalistic activity of Elena. Among other things, the focus is on its activities in Kyiv. Elena has collaborated on various issues of criminal law with such publications as the "Journal of the Ministry of Justice", "Journal of Criminal Law and Procedure". In the period from 1909 to 1916, she actively published her works in the largest circulation provincial newspaper of the Russian Empire of his time, “Kievskaya Mysl’" On the pages of the periodicals, Elena highlights the most pressing and acute issues of social life. In Kyiv, she organizes a patronage for prisoners, participates in the League for the Protection of Childhood and drafts its statute. She initiated the creation of a juvenile court in 1914 in Kyiv. She actively works at the Kyiv Women's Public Assembly, lectures at the People's House.

In: Filosofiya osvity. Philosophy of Education, Institute of Higher Education NAES of Ukraine, Vol. 29, No. 1 ( 2023-07-21), p. 249-298
Abstract: The article continues the previous two published in the journal “Philosophy of Education” 27(1) and 27(2), which refuted certain biased accusations against the Ukrainian translations of Kant’s “Critique of Pure Reason” (2000) and “Critique of Practical Reason” (2004). Now the author aims to demonstrate the level of these translations by numerous comparisons of their fragments with corresponding passages edited or independently translated by some Ukrainian Kant-scholars, including two participants in the previous discussion. The selected samples include mainly quotes, which have some significant differences from the text of the mentioned editions – either for better or for worse. In addition to quotations, the comparisons include fragments of Kant’s text, repeated in some sources by the author himself or his reviewer, and reproduced in Ukrainian by different translators. The study shows that alternative translations of fragments of Kant’s works are mostly inferior to the discussed Ukrainian editions in terms of their level, and interventions in the text of the latter when quoting improve it only to a small extent, but in the vast majority they are not justified and have a subjective nature. There are no obvious signs of an excessively high frequency of errors, in any case serious, in the Ukrainian translations of the first two “Critics”. This points in favor of a satisfactory rating for them, although there is an undeniable need to reissue them with corrections and other improvements. The samples of alternative translations and quoting of Kant (sometimes the context of the quotations is also discussed) here act as an indicator of the state of modern Ukrainian Kant studies and related areas, prompting certain conclusions.

Abstract: The study of a document as the main research object by various sciences led to the formation of document science as a metascience for all sciences of the document and communication field: library science, bibliography, bibliology, archival science, computer science and other disciplines. The purpose of this research is a scientific article in a professional publication within the hierarchy of concepts: from a publication as a document (in a number of names: a publication (periodical, journal, professional); a scientific journal (printed, electronic)) to hypothesizing a scientific article as a document (primary and secondary) with functions, details, typical composition and language formulas of scientific style. A special place in documentary communication belongs to the following publications: books, magazines, newspapers, posters, maps, notes, divided by frequency, material structure, iconic nature of information, and purpose. In Ukraine a scientific professional publication is a periodical or ongoing publication (also electronic) included by the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in the list of publications in which the results of dissertation research for obtaining the degree of doctor and candidate of science can be published. The interesting material for the study is provided by the scientific professional publication of Ukraine in the field of social communication “Bulletin of the Book Chamber” (the articles from all issues during 2020 were selected for the analysis). It promotes materials on publishing activities, legal support of book publishing and book distribution, analytical and statistical reviews of publications in Ukraine, problematic articles on the development of the media, bibliology and library science, reviews of new publications, and historical research. Within the framework of the article, the following concepts are considered: “primary document”, “secondary document”, “details”. The primary document is a text of the article, drawn up in accordance with the rules for submitting scientific articles. The secondary document includes the UDC index, DOI, abstracts, keywords, bibliography, and references. In any article certain details are singled out: 1) information about the author (authors); 2) title of the article – in Ukrainian and English; 3) text of the article with the necessary elements; 4) date (submission of the article to the editorial office). The resolution of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine on January 15, 2003 No. 7–05/1, which is now known to any scientist, significantly unifies the scientific article. Paragraph 3 obliges the editorial boards of professional publications to accept publications according to previously known formal requirements: statement of the problem, analysis of recent studies and publications, formulation of goals, presentation of the main material of the study, and conclusions. Of course, it encourages authors to use well-established lexical and grammatical constructions that “serve” the aforementioned semantically completed compositional parts.

Abstract: Extraction of graphite and its use in various spheres of production and technology play a significant role in the economies of many countries. Distinctive characteristics of graphite, which is one of the most common forms of carbon in nature (good electrical conductivity, low hardness, resistance to heat and aggressive environments), are widely used by scientists in various scientific developments. After British researchers of Russian origin from the University of Manchester Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov published an article about properties of the first studied two-dimensional graphene crystal in the journal Science in 2004, and numerous studies of properties of the new material, the demand for graphite ore has been increasing, and, according to some forecasts, it will amount to more than $ 400 million by 2026. Natural flake graphite can be used in new technologies, such as graphene, which is now used in various scientific experiments, as well as in the production of lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, nuclear and solar power plants. Geological conditions of the Zavallivske graphite deposit, which is the main source of graphite in Ukraine, have been briefly presented in the paper, and perspectives of identified areas that can become an additional reserve of graphite ore have been outlined. Significant prognosis resources of graphite in new deposits, which have been recently discovered in Ukraine (Burtynske, Balakhivske, Sachkinsko-Troitske, a number of new sites within the Zavallia area), allow not only to maintain at the appropriate level, but also, if necessary, expand existing mineral raw material base, so Ukraine could become one of the world's largest suppliers of graphite products. Graphene has a great mechanical strength and a very high thermal conductivity. An extremely high mobility of electrons makes graphene a perspective material for the application in various fields, in particular, as a future basis for nanoelectronics and possible replacement of silicon in integrated circuits. Results on the application of unique properties of graphene have been presented.
