    Abstract: JEAN GIONO AND « COLLABORATIONISM » : NATURE AND POLITICAL DESTINY What were Giono' s politics during the German Occupation in France ? Despite affirmations to the contrary by his biographer, P. Citron, in the collaborationist press, in the 1942 novel/essay « Triomphe de la vie » and in his «Journal de l'Occupation» (1995), Giono expressed views similar to those expressed by Vichy ideologues and even the nazis themselves. But the writer's reactionary vision dates from well before the war, and is demonstrated in his 1930 fictional masterpiece, « Regain ».

    Abstract: Roland Barthes : Fragments of a Conceptual Diary. The article analyzes the relationship between Roland Barthes’ diary fragments (Soirées de Paris and Journal de deuil), and conceptual art. As a first step, we examine their commonalities and differences by emphasizing the author’s shared interest for the question of language and form. Barthes’ writing strategy goes beyond the egotism specific to the genre of the diary. By questioning its very nature, Barthes transforms the diary into a self-reflexive text which tests the validity of his own form and can bear the name of a conceptual diary. Secondly, we analyze each one of the two texts in order to show how the boundaries of the genre are tested and how they bind to other Barthesian writings of the same period. Vita Nova contains explicit references to the diary fragments and bespeaks the extension of a project thought outside of genre limitation.

    Abstract: Il n'existe pas de presse «objective». La neutralité d'un journal n'est pas plus réelle que celle d'un pays en matière de politique étrangère. Ici, l'engagement repose sur les forties de l'écrit. Dès lors, ce qu'il importe de mettre en évidence, ce sont les rapports que le journaliste crée ou maintient dans son texte de presse entre son écriture et son engagement. Ou bien son écriture traduira la nature d'une action politique ou bien elle l'induira. Propagateur dans le premier cas, propagandiste dans le second. En comparant l'avènement du Devoir en 1910 et celui du Jour en 1974, ainsi qu'en repérant dans l'édition actuelle de ces deux quotidiens des procédés d'écriture particuliers du mode éditorial, Jacques Rivet distingue deux types d'opinion journalistique : l'opinion-événement et l'opinion-document. Cette étude de l'engagement du journaliste par le moyen de l'opinion, révèle le jeu subtil auquel se livrent les journaux pour donner à leur action (ou à leur réaction) un sens, une portée et un effet qui en décrivent la finalité politique.
