Verlagsinformation: The Scientific Programme "European Palaeoclimate and man since the last glaciation" (EPC) was established by the European Science Foundation (ESF) in 1989. The main object of this research project is a better understanding of the influence of man on the European climate, beginning with Early Neolithic times. This volume comprises contributions from the first EPC workshop. They focus on the critical evaluation of different proxy data covering all of Western Europe, with special emphasis given to the different time resolution of the various chronological methods applied. The contributions deal with a wide range of palaeobiological, mostly palaeobotanical and geological approaches aiming at a quantitative reconstruction of European palaeoenvironments and palaeoclimate. Band 6 aus der Reihe "Paläoklimaforschung" enthält ausschließlich englischsprachige Beiträge, die sich mit der Ermittlung und Bewertung von Daten für eine Rekonstruktion des europäischen Paläoklimas befassen.
