Comment:
Reconstruction based on Table S1 (doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.785636) and Table S2 (doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.785670). The pollen record of Lake Biwa was published in Miyoshi et al., 1999, doi:10.1016/S0034-6667(98)00058-X.
Based on a modern climate data set (New et al., 2002, doi:10.3354/cr021001) following values for climate parameters were estimated: Temperature of warmest month (WMT) = 27.22 °C; Temperature of coldest month (CMT) = 2.89 °C; Annual mean temperature (MAT) = 14.64 °C; Precipitation, Apr-Sep = 1144.52 mm; Precipitation, Oct-Mar = 683.32 mm; Annual mean precipitation = 1827.84 mm; Temperature warmth index = 108.78; Temperature coldness index = -6.78.
