Abstract

Two new intermetallic compounds K3Ag3As2 and K3Cu3As2 have been prepared and their crystal structures determined. They crystallize in the rhombohedral space group R3̅m with

K3Cu3As2: a = 576(2) pm, c = 2026(5) pm,

K3Ag3As2: a = 599(2) pm, c = 2135(4) pm.

and are isotypic to K3Cu3P2
