Abstract

This paper deals with a cantilever piezoelectric vibrator alarm, which is aimed to be used in such telecommunication devices as pagers and portable telephones. A specific merit of this new alarm is that it is soundless and is available in a very thin form because of its simple construction. As results of experimental investigations, the tactile sense and the vibrational amplitude achieved by a pager equipped with the vibrator alarm were found to be similar to those of pagers currently on the market, in which a DC motor alarm was utilized.
