Change of salinity averaged over the entire water column is represented by the black (or white in the case of the fjord) line plots on top of the contours with the corresponding additional y-axes on the right side. The vertical black lines on t46 mark the volume determination by brine (NaCl) addition. The other vertical black lines frame periods where we had small holes in the mesocosm bags (influx estimates given in Table 2).
