Therya is published quarterly, including articles from original scientific investigations, in Spanish or English, on the knowledge of mammals. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed following a double-blind system that warrants top-quality standards. Therya is listed as an international-quality journal in the Excellence List at Mexico's National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT).

Chaetodipus siccus liaae is a microendemic subspecies from the Planes basin, in the south of the Baja California peninsula.
