This paper presented a technical process of the robotic roll hemming for the automobile industry. Hemming is the metalworking process in which the edge of outer panel is rolled over onto the inner panel. Hemming process has developed rapidly, but currently there is a lack of research on the number of bending, bending angles and pressures. When using a 6-axis multi-joint robot, the bending trajectory becomes complicated because it can move in all three directions. In this study, a measurement method for processing the position and processing the load is proposed. In further research, our aim is to clarify the mechanism of roller hemming.
