    Description / Table of Contents: Der lebensphilosophische Topos der Unergründlichkeit betont, dass etwas nicht restlos in unserer Verfügungsgewalt steht. Damit sichert er etwa die Unverfügbarkeit (und somit die Würde) der Person - aber auch einen präzisen Begriff von Performativität. Dieser Gewinn des Topos kommt bisher nicht zum Tragen, da er nicht systematisch vor kulturkritisch-irrationalistischen Lesarten geschützt ist. Umgekehrt führt eine bloße Irrationalismus-Kritik zur Verharmlosung und biopolitischen Vereinnahmung: Unergründlichkeit ist mehr und anderes als nie erreichbare Verfügbarkeit. Volker Schürmann macht mit Hegel, Misch und Plessner die Weichenstellungen sichtbar, um dieses Entweder-oder in einer politischen Lesart von Unergründlichkeit unterlaufen zu können.
