Drought‐related conservation measures can lead to significant water utility revenue reductions, resulting in declines in financial stability Water utilities can benefit from risk pooling with indexed financial insurance contracts, despite some spatial autocorrelation in drought conditions across the US Risk pooling can lead to both lower risk management costs and more widespread implementation of financial risk management strategies
