Methylenimmonium Salts by Hydride Abstraction from Tertiary AminesThe preparation of the methyleneimmonium salts 3 (table 1) is performed by hydride abstraction from methyl groups of the tertiary amines 1 by di- and triarylmethyl cations 2. The salts 3 are characterized by IR- and NMR-spectroscopic studies. Reactions of the methylenimmonium salts 3 with Grignard compounds (giving 5), water (→6), acetophenone (giving the Mannich base 7) and N,N-dimethylaniline (resulting in 8 and 9) are described.

Die Darstellung der Methylenimmoniumsalze 3 (Tab. 1) gelingt durch Hydrid-Abstraktion aus der Methylgruppe der tertiären Amine 1 mittels Di- und Tri-aryl-methyl-Kationen 2. Die Salze 3 werden durch IR- und NMR-spektroskopische Untersuchungen charakterisiert. Reaktionen der Methylenimmoniumsalze 3 mit Grignardverbindungen (zu 5), Wasser (zu 6), Acetophenon (zur Mannich-Base 7) und N.N-Dimethylanilin (zu 8 und 9) werden beschrieben.
