Description: Molecular interactions between carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) and a double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (dsDNA) fragment were investigated using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Six types of CNPs including fullerenes (C60 and C70), () single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT), () double-walled carbon nanotube (DWNT), graphene quantum dot (GQD), and graphene oxide quantum dot (GOQD) were studied. Analysis of the best geometry indicates that the dsDNA fragment can bind to CNPs through pi-stacking and T-shape. Moreover, C60, DWNT, and GOQD bind to the dsDNA molecules at the minor groove of the nucleotide, and C70, SWNT, and GQD bind to the dsDNA molecules at the hydrophobic ends. Estimated interaction energy implies that van der Waals force may mainly contribute to the mechanisms for the dsDNA-C60, dsDNA-C70, and dsDNA-SWNT interactions and electrostatic force may contribute considerably to the dsDNA-DWNT, dsDNA-GQD, and dsDNA-GOQD interactions. On the basis of the results from large-scale MD simulations, it was found that the presence of the dsDNA enhances the dispersion of C60, C70, and SWNT in water and has a slight impact on DWNT, GQD, and GOQD.

Description: Erigeron multiradiatus (Lindl.) Benth. has been used in Tibet folk medicine to treat various inflammatory diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate antimyocardial ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) injury effect of caffeoylquinic acids derivatives of E. multiradiatus (AE) in vivo and to explain underling mechanism. AE was prepared using the whole plant of E. multiradiatus and contents of 6 caffeoylquinic acids determined through HPLC analysis. Myocardial I/R was induced by left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion for 30 minutes followed by 24 hours of reperfusion in rats. AE administration (10, 20, and 40 mg/kg) inhibited I/R-induced injury as indicated by decreasing myocardial infarct size, reducing of CK and LDH activities, and preventing ST-segment depression in dose-dependent manner. AE decreased cardiac tissue levels of proinflammatory factors TNF-α and IL-6 and attenuated leukocytes infiltration. AE was further demonstrated to significantly inhibit I-κB degradation, nuclear translocation of p-65 and phosphorylation of JNK. Our results suggested that cardioprotective effect of AE could be due to suppressing myocardial inflammatory response and blocking NF-κB and JNK activation pathway. Thus, caffeoylquinic acids might be the active compounds in E. multiradiatus on myocardial ischemia and be a potential natural drug for treating myocardial I/R injury.

Description: Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller is one of the most widely used controllers for its property of simplicity and practicability. In order to design high-quality performances PID controllers, an Advanced Fireworks (AFW) algorithm based on self-adaption principle and bimodal Gaussian function is proposed, which is built to optimize the PID controller by parameters tuning. Firstly, a compound index of optimization performance is formulated, and then the extremal optimization method of PID control system is proposed. Secondly, a PID parameters tuning model combined with AFW is built. At last, 5 typical transfer functions are simulated to obtain optimal parameters by AFW and contrast tuning method, such as Ziegler-Nichols method, Enhanced Fireworks (EFW) algorithm, and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Simulation results show that AFW are effective and are easily implemented methods to solve PID control problems of different transfer functions.

Description: Excited states in the odd-proton nucleus 125 Cs were investigated by means of in-beam γ -ray spectroscopy. The πg 7/2 band is observed to fork into a Δ I = 1 coupled band and a Δ I = 2 decoupled band at high spins. To assign the possible configurations of these two bands, experimental B (M1)/ B (E2) ratios and signature splittings have been evaluated for the Δ I = 1 band, and calculations based on the geometrical model, cranked shell model and total Routhian surfaces model have been performed. They are suggested to be a near-oblate band built on the ( πg 7/2 / d 5/2 ) ⊗ ( νh 11/2 ) 2 configuration and a prolate band built on the πg 7/2 ⊗ ( πh 11/2 ) 2 configuration, respectively.

Description: Micro air vehicles (MAVs) have a wide application such as the military reconnaissance, meteorological survey, environmental monitoring, and other aspects. In this paper, attitude and altitude control for Quad-Rotor type MAVs is discussed and analyzed. For the attitude control, a new method by using three gyroscopes and one triaxial accelerometer is proposed to estimate the attitude angle information. Then with the approximate linear model obtained by system identification, Model Reference Sliding Mode Control (MRSMC) technique is applied to enhance the robustness. In consideration of the relatively constant altitude model, a Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controller is adopted. The outdoor experimental results demonstrate the superior stability and robustness of the controllers.

Description: There has been growing interest in revealing exotic properties of chiral phonons since they were found in honeycomb AB lattice, and very recently they were experimentally verified in a tungsten diselenide monolayer (2018 Science 359 579). In this work, we manipulate phonon chirality through interface transmission via a one-dimensional atomic junction model by using the scattering boundary method. Due to the difference of phase change between two transverse directions induced by the anisotropy at interface coupling, the phonon polarization can be tuned between circular and linear in the high-frequency range. In a double-junction atomic model with an anisotropic center, we find that the phase change accumulates when the phonon transmits through the interface material thus the phonon can be tuned between different chirality in the medium frequency range. The phase change is found to linearly depend on the width of the interface material, while the transmission coeffic...

Description: To explore the reaction characteristics and mechanism of Al/MnO 2 thermite, selecting the high purity micron grade Al and MnO 2 powder, the Al/MnO 2 thermite sample was mixed by the ultrasonic dispersion method. On the basis of the study of thermal decomposition of MnO 2 powder, the thermal performance of the sample was study by simultaneous thermal analysis technique at the temperature range from room temperature to 900°C, and the reaction products were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microstructure changes of the thermite during reaction were observed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The results showed that the MnO 2 has two processes of thermal decomposition during the temperature rising, and the reaction products were Mn 2 O 3 and Mn 3 O 4 , and the onset temperature were 498.3°C and 781.5°C, the heat release were - 197.1J/g and -57.4 J/g, respectively. Description: The parametric design macro programs of two basic types of single-layer hemi-ellipsoidal latticed shell are developed by using APDL (Ansys Parametric Design Language) parameterized design language. The parametric design of single-layer hemi-ellipsoidal latticed shell structures can be built under the condition of giving the macroscopic geometric parameters such as specifical parameter t, parameter k, span S1, span S2, rise f, valley number Kn, radial node number Nx etc. Ansys software is applied to study comparison of characteristics of the Kewitte type net shell structure of different vector height f, radial node number Nx and boundary constraints. The results show that modeling design of hemi-ellipsoidal latticed shell can be built conveniently and quickly by the application of parametric design of macro program. The three-way grid type is more reasonable force performance, and it’s mechanical performance is better when the span ratio is 1/2. Thus it is suggested to give prior...

Description: In traditional Web-based learning systems, due to insufficient learning behaviors analysis and personalized study guides, a few user clustering algorithms are introduced. While analyzing the behaviors with these algorithms, researchers generally focus on continuous data but easily neglect discrete data, each of which is generated from online learning actions. Moreover, there are implicit coupled interactions among the data but are frequently ignored in the introduced algorithms. Therefore, a mass of significant information which can positively affect clustering accuracy is neglected. To solve the above issues, we proposed a coupled user clustering algorithm for Wed-based learning systems by taking into account both discrete and continuous data, as well as intracoupled and intercoupled interactions of the data. The experiment result in this paper demonstrates the outperformance of the proposed algorithm.
