Kurzfassung: The study aims to examine the mediation effects of physical literacy and physical activity behavior in a relationship between psychological distress and life satisfaction among Chinese college students during the real-life Coronavirus disease pandemic (COVID-19) circumstance. This study implemented a cross-sectional design, and 1,516 participants from 12 universities participated in this study. Structural equation modeling was used to examine a hypothesized model. The findings indicated an acceptable model fit ( X 2 [61] = 508.2, Comparative Fit Index [CFI]  = 0.958, Tucker Lewis Index [TLI] = 0.946, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation [RMSEA]  = 0.076, 90% CI [0.070, 0.082], Standardized Root Mean Square Residual [SRMR]  = 0.047). The results indicated that college students with low participation in physical activity could experience less than healthy living conditions. The findings offered empirical support to the theory that physical literacy could advance individuals’ healthy living by promoting physical activity participation. The study suggested that educational institutions and physical activity programs should cultivate individuals’ physical literacy in order to promote lifelong healthy living.

Kurzfassung: Gross domestic product (GDP) depends on myriad factor and financial intermediaries especially banks play a very important role in economic growth and development of a country. They not only lend loans rather also generate liquidity—which is very important for the smooth functioning of an economy. Therefore, this study explores the channels through which bank liquidity creation affects GDP. It uses the data from listed and unlisted Chinese banks ranging from the year 2006 to 2017. The results of the analysis reveal that the liquidity creation by Chinese banks significantly negatively affects economic output. The magnitude of the impact of small-bank liquidity creation is greater than the large banks. Variation in the GDP is explained by current and previous year’s liquidity creation. Cat-fat measure of liquidity creation affects GDP directly as well as through consumption, investment, government expenditure, and net exports channels; however, cat-nonfat measure affects economic output directly and through all aforementioned channels except net exports. Overall, the findings support the hypothesis that liquidity creation affects the economy directly as well as through different channels.

Kurzfassung: This study employs high-dimensional factors model to depict the development of monetary policy uncertainty (MPU) in China over the past decades and develops a logical analytical framework to analyze the effect of MPU on the dynamic adjustment of a firm’s capital structure through bank risk-taking channels. We investigate how MPU affects dynamic adjustment of a firm’s capital structure using a panel data set of China public manufacturers between 2007 and 2018 and find that the higher the MPU, the more detrimental it is to the dynamic adjustment of firm’s capital structure. Further, bank risk-taking plays the role of a financial stabilizer. In addition to the willingness to take risks in on-balance sheet operations and the scale of loans, the risk-taking of our banks may also be reflected in the adjustment of the off-balance-sheet shadow banking scale. This study also finds that in terms of on-balance sheet business, heighten MPU decreases the scale of bank credit and tightens loan approval criteria, in terms of off-balance sheet business, heighten MPU decreases the scale of shadow banking, thereby leading to a lower dynamic adjustment of firm’s capital structure. Kurzfassung: We extend the mental accounting perspective to build models on product quality matching strategy, which is effective in resolving the conflict between traditional and online channels. We consider that perceived values of high-quality and low-quality products belong to different mental accounts, and construct three product quality matching strategies for a dual-channel supply chain. Comparing the profit of each member, we find that (1) the strategy where the traditional channel distributes premium products, while the e-tailer sells low-quality products, is most conducive to the manufacturer; (2) the profit elasticity of the e-tailer is larger than that of the traditional retailer; (3) traditional retailers should sell more price elastic products, and e-tailers should sell the product with lower price elasticity; and (4) the manufacturer has more monopoly power if consumers have a higher degree of acceptance for the online channel that distributes premium products.

Kurzfassung: The prohibition of aquaculture is an important policy instrument for water quality protection. However, there are lack of observations on the complex interactions between stakeholders in the limiting or closing of fisheries and the internal cooperative mechanism that balances the restoration of water bodies and the livelihoods of fishermen. Using evolutionary game theory and modeling, this article analyzes the complex mutual feedback strategy between local government and the affected fishermen in regard to water body restoration and livelihood security under fishing prohibition. The results show that (a) the performance evaluation mechanism of environmental protection, including rewards and punishments, can provide direct political traction and indirect material guarantees for local governments to perform their duties and allow water body restoration and the transition of fishermen to alternative livelihoods. (b) Whether the local government actively promotes aquaculture closures is restricted by the improvement in the aquatic environment, the aquaculture development under the existing livelihood, and the industrial economic benefits of the new livelihood. And the capacity of them contribute to the overall development of the local government. The development of the net income of both parties in the negotiation will shape the direction of a series of public policies that focus on aquaculture closures.

Kurzfassung: The identification of spatial layout and functional characteristics among industrial clusters is vital to support the development of regional industries. Based on the industrial registration data of more than 330,000 companies in “The First Industrial Clusters in China,” and natural language processing methods (NLP), a set of identification framework for urban industrial functional zones is constructed by introducing commercial registration data and electronic map location data to deal with complex industrial big data, realizing the recognition of industrial spatial layout and functional characteristics of Nanshan. The results show that the industrial coverage of Nanshan is as high as 79.07%, and the wholesale and retail enterprises are its main bodies. Among the nine industrial functional zones, emerging enterprises accounted for the majority and diversified agglomeration areas were more than specialized agglomerations in capital scale and employability. Thus, in future industrial planning, maintaining a diversified industrial agglomeration, while giving more policy favor to functional zones characterized by wholesale and retail, can better stimulate consumption and promote economic development in the region.
