Abstract: Despite the booming market of fresh food, the fresh e-commerce platform holds only a limited market share, owing to the lack of habitual usage of these platforms. This article explores the determinants of purchase intention when using a fresh e-commerce platform. The integrated technology acceptance model (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology [UTAUT]) is employed as the framework. A questionnaire survey was conducted and is analyzed using the structural equation model. We find that both performance expectancy and social influence have a significantly positive effect on consumers’ purchase intention using fresh e-commerce platforms, while perceived risk has a significantly negative effect. Perceived trust plays a mediating role between performance expectancy and purchase intention, social influence and purchase intention, as well as perceived risk and purchase intention. In addition, food safety awareness is a moderator between perceived trust and purchase intention.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the Shannon entropy procedure and the Jensen–Shannon divergence (JSD) that are used as item selection criteria in cognitive diagnostic computerized adaptive testing (CD-CAT). Because the JSD itself is defined by the Shannon entropy, we apply the well-known relationship between the JSD and Shannon entropy to establish a relationship between the item selection criteria that are based on these two measures. To understand the relationship between these two item selection criteria better, an alternative way is also provided. Theoretical derivations and empirical examples have shown that the Shannon entropy procedure and the JSD in CD-CAT have a linear relation under cognitive diagnostic models. Consistent with our theoretical conclusions, simulation results have shown that two item selection criteria behaved quite similarly in terms of attribute-level and pattern recovery rates under all conditions and they selected the same set of items for each examinee from an item bank with item parameters drawn from a uniform distribution U(0.1, 0.3) under post hoc simulations. We provide some suggestions for future studies and a discussion of relationship between the modified posterior-weighted Kullback–Leibler index and the G-DINA (generalized deterministic inputs, noisy “and” gate) discrimination index.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the push (i.e., socio-motivation) and pull (i.e., ski resort attribute preference) factors influencing the level of participation of leisure skiing in China. Leisure skiers ( N = 300) from a major ski resort in China participated in this study. Based on a comprehensive review of the literature and a test of content validity, a survey questionnaire was formulated to measure push and pull variables, demographic information, and ski resort participation frequency. Conducting multiple regression analyses to discover the relationship between push factors and skiing frequency, the escape factor was found to be influencing the skiing frequency most significantly ( p 〈 .05). Four pull factors including sceneries, condition of slopes and snow, training course feature, and cost showed different demand when the demographic backgrounds of participants were taken into consideration (i.e., gender, age, skiing frequency). Discussions are centered on the theoretical and managerial implications on procedures of pushing and pulling consumers to ski resorts at large and increasing skiing participation in China.
