Notes: This case report illustrates that pyoderma gangrenosum may be the only presenting feature of Wegener's granulomatosis. The pyoderma gangrenosum lesions were in this case effectively treated by minocycline hydrochloride but this did not prevent the later manifestations of Wegener's granulomatosis from developing.

Notes: A case is described of a female who presented with angulated ulcers on both ankles, suggesting dermatitis artefacta. The livedo pattern of the ulcers and the presence of thrombosed dermal vessels on histology prompted a search for a cryoprotein, and a monoclonal cryoglobulin was detected.

Notes: Molecular beam epitaxial growth of a normally homogeneous InAs0.5Sb0.5 alloy below 430 °C results in its coherent phase separation into platelets of two different alloy compositions with tetragonally distorted crystal lattices. This produces a "natural'' strained layer superlattice (n-SLS) with clearly defined interfaces modulated in the [001] growth direction. A description of the n-SLS growth mode in InAsSb is outlined, and the optical response of a n-SLS structure, which extends to 12.5 μm−considerably further than that of a homogeneous InAs0.5Sb0.5 layer (8.9 μm)−is reported.

Notes: Bleomycin, an anti-neoplastic antibiotic produced by Streptomyces verticullis, is widely used in the treatment of malignant lymphomas and squamous cell carcinomas. Like other anti-metabolite drugs it has been associated with a number of cutaneous side effects such as alopecia and stomatitis1. Bleomycin can also produce a characteristic cutaneous reaction: linear streaking2, two cases of which are reported herein.
