    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Zur differenzthermoanalytischen Untersuchung von ternären intermetallischen Verbindungen wie Li2ZnGe, Li2ZnSi, LiMgAs, TlZnSb und TlCdSb wurden gasdicht verschraubbare Tiegel aus Tantal, Molybdän und Titan konstruiert, die den besonderen Eigenschaften dieser Verbindungen, insbesondere der leichten Flüchtigkeit von Lithium, Magnesium, Zink und Cadmium sowie der großen Korrosivität der Schmelzen Rechnung tragen mußten. Außer diesen »Metallautoklaven« wurden geschlossene, in einer Metallhülse gelagerte Quarzampullen eingesetzt. Die kalorimetrischen Eigenschaften dieser Tiegel wurden in verschiedenen Temperaturbereichen untersucht und miteinander verglichen.
    Abstract: Резюме Для ДТА измерений тро йных интерметалличе ских соединений Li2ZnGe, Li2ZnSi, LiMgAs, TlZnSb и TlCdSb были изготовлен ы газонепроницаемые, накручивающиеся тиг ли из тантала, молибдена и титана. Установлено, что такие тигли пригодны для ис следования специфических свойс тв этих соединений, уч итывая высокую летучесть ли тия, магния, цинка и кадмия, а также корро зионные свойства их с плавов. Кроме этих «металлич еских автоклавов», были использованы за паянные кварцевые ам пулы, закрепленные в метал лическом корпусе. Калориметри ческие свойства изго товленных тиглей были исследов аны в различных областях температур и сопоставлены друг с другом.
    Notes: Abstract For DTA measurements on ternary intermetallic compounds such as Li2ZnGe, Li2ZnSi, LiMgAs, TlZnSb and TlCdSb, gastight screwable crucibles were constructed from tantalum, molybdenum and titanium. They had to be suited to the special properties of these compounds, particularly the high volatility of lithium, magnesium, zinc and cadmium and the corroding characteristic of their melts. Besides these “metallic autoclaves”, closed quartz glass ampules were used, which were supported in a metallic hull. The calorimetric properties of these crucibles were investigated in different regions of temperature and compared with one another.

    Description / Table of Contents: Ternary Germanides of Lithium and Rare-Earth-Metals with Fe2P-Type Structure: LiErGe, LiHoGe, LiNdGe and LiSmGeIn the systems Li—M—Ge (M = Er, Ho, Nd, Sm) the compounds LiErGe, LiHoGe, LiNdGe and LiSmGe were prepared. They crystallize hexagonally (space group P-62m), and a C22-(Fe2P-type) lattice was found. The crystal structure of LiErGe was determined by X-ray single crystal investigation. Structural features of the compounds are discussed in comparison.
    Notes: In den Systemen Li—M—Ge (M = Er, Ho, Nd, Sm) wurden die Verbindungen LiErGe, LiHoGe, LiNdGe und LiSmGe dargestellt und röntgenorgraphisch untersucht. Sie kristallisieren hexagonal (Raumgruppe P62m) im Fe2P-Typ. Einkristalluntersuchungen wurden für LiErGe durchgeführt. Die Strukturen der Verbindungen werden vergleichend diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Ternary Intermetallic Phases of Lithium, Transition Metals of the 4th Group and Elements of the 5th Maingroup with Statistical Metal Distribution in the „Cation“-SubstructureThe results of X-ray investigations and neutron diffraction on new and in some cases already known [1, 2] ternary intermetallic phases of Lithium with transition metals of the 4th group (b) and those of the 5th main group (X = P, As, Sb, Bi) will be reported. They crystallize in a partly „filled“ antifluorite type structure with a statistical Li/B-distribution in the tetrahedral sites. The structures are obviously stabilized by small amounts of enclosed d-elements.
    Notes: Es wird über Röntgenstrukturuntersuchungen und Neutronenbeugung an neuen und einigen schon bekannten [1, 2] ternären intermetallischen Phasen des Lithiums mit Elementen der 4. Nebengruppe (B) und Elementen der 5. Hauptgruppe (X = P, As, Sb, Bi) berichtet. Sie kristallisieren in einer teilweise „aufgefüllten“ Antifluorit-Struktur mit statistischer Li/B-Besetzung der Tetraederlücken, die offenbar durch den Einbau von geringen Mengen der Übergangsmetalle stabilisiert wird.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Crystal Structure of (Al0,5Ga0,5)CuOAsO4 - Copper Intermediate between Planar and Closed CoordinationSingle crystals of the new oxide arsenate (Al0.5Ga0.5)CuOAsO4 (monoclinic, P21/c, a = 734.3(2) pm, b = 1024.79(9) pm, c = 563.4(2) pm, β = 99.93(1)°, Z = 4) were obtained by reaction of Al/As/Cu/Ga-alloys with oxygen. The crystal structure was determined from four-circle diffractometer data (w2R = 0.039 for 1211 F2 values and 76 parameters). The structure contains [Cu2O6] double squares arranged in slabs perpendicular to the a axis such that a [4 + 1]-coordination of the copper atoms by oxygen atoms results which is intermediate between square-planar and square-pyramidal. Along [100] layers of corner sharing (Al/Ga)O4 and AsO4 tetrahedra are alternating with buckled Cu layers.
    Notes: Einkristalle des neuen Oxidarsenats (Al0,5Ga0,5)CuOAsO4 (monoklin, P21/c, a = 734,3(2) pm, b = 1024,79(9) pm, c = 563,4(2) pm, β = 99,93(1)°, Z = 4) wurden durch Oxidation von Al/As/Cu/Ga-Legierungen im Sauerstoffstrom erhalten. Die Kristallstruktur wurde aus Vierkreisdiffraktometer-Daten bestimmt (w2R = 0,039 für 1211 F2-Werte und 76 Parameter). [Cu2O6]-Doppelquadrate sind in Schichten senkrecht zur a-Achse so angeordnet, daß für Kupfer eine [4 + 1]-Koordination durch Sauerstoffatome resultiert, die als Übergang von quadratisch-planarer zu quadratisch-pyramidaler Koordination interpretiert werden kann. In [100]-Richtung wechseln Schichten aus eckenverknüpften (Al/Ga)O4- und AsO4-Tetraedern mit gewellten Cu-Schichten ab.

    Description / Table of Contents: Magnetic Properties of SEPtX-Compounds (SE = Rare Earth Element, X = P, As)The magnetic properties of SEPtP and SEPtAs (SE = Sm, Gd, Tb, Tm, Yb, Lu) in the temperature range between 4 and 300 K were measured. The compounds crystallize in a modified AlB2-type structure (phosphides) and a related type, respectively. GdPtAs and TbPtP show at low temperatures ferromagnetic behaviour, SmPtAs and GdPtP are antiferromagnetic. At temperatures below 10 K TmPtP and TmPtAs are converted into a magnetic order too. Paramagnetism is observed in the cases of LuPtAs and LuPtAs (Pauli-Paramagnetism) and SmPtP (temperature- independent Paramagnetism) · YbPtP and YbPtAs follow the law of Curie-Weiss, the arsenide is one of the phases with dynamic intermediate valency.
    Notes: Die magnetischen Eigenschaften von SEPtP und SEPtAs (SE = Sm, Gd, Tb, Tm, Yb, Lu) wurden im Temperaturbereich zwischen 4 und 300 K gemessen. Die Verbindungen kristallisieren im AlB2-Typ (Phosphide) bzw · einer Variante dieser Struktur (Arsenide). GdPtAs und TbPtP verhalten sich bei tiefen Temperaturen ferromagnetisch, SmPtAs und GdPtP antiferromagnetisch. Bei Temperaturen unterhalb von 10 K zeigen auch TmPtP und TmPtAs eine magnetische Ordnung, während LuPtP sowie LuPtAs Pauli-Paramagnetismus und SmPtP einen temperaturunabhängigen Paramagnetismus aufweisen. YbPtP und YbPtAs folgen dem Curie-Weiß-Gesetz, wobei das Arsenid dynamisch zwischenvalent ist.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Crystal Structure of TlCu[CuO2]By reaction of Tl2O3 and Cu2O in a sealed copper-type TlCu[CuO2] was synthesized; the orthorhombically bodycentered crystallizing compound forms a new structure type, space group Imma (no. 74), with the lattice constants a = 552.5 pm, b = 605.2 pm, c = 896.4 pm. The Madelung Part of Lattice Energy, MAPLE, as well as Effective Coordination Numbers, ECoN, these via Mean Effective Ionic Radii, MEFIR, were calculated.
    Notes: Durch Umsetzung von Tl2O3 und Cu2O im verschweißten Kupfertiegel gelang die Darstellung von TlCu[CuO2]; die Verbindung kristallisiert orthorhombisch innenzentriert in einem neuen Strukturtyp, Raumgruppe Imma (Nr. 74), mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 552,5 pm, b = 605,2 pm, c = 896,4 pm. Der Madelunganteil der Gitterenergie, MAPLE, sowie Effektive Koordinationszahlen, ECoN, diese über Mittlere Effektive Ionenradien, MEFIR, wurden berechnet.

    Description / Table of Contents: New Ternary Arsenides of Cesium with 8b-ElementsCs2PdAs2 was prepared from the elements. It is isotypic with K2PdAs2 (A2MX2) and crystallizes orthorhombically, space group Cmcm, with the following constants: a = 706.8(4) pm; b = 1476.6(7) pm; c = 636.6(3) pm. The structure is characterized by MX2-zigzag-ribbons surrounded by channel-like arranged alkali atoms.The new ternary compounds CsRu2As2 and CsRh2As2 are isotypic with ThCr2Si2 (inferred from powder photographs).
    Notes: Cs2PdAs2 wurde als neuer Vertreter der K2PdAs2-Struktur (Raumgruppe Cmcm) aus den Elementen dargestellt. Die aus Straumanis-Aufnahmen ermittelten Gitterkonstanten sind: a = 706,8(4) pm; b = 1476,6(7) pm; c = 636,6(3) pm. An einem Einkristall von Cs2PdAs2 wurde eine vollständige Strukturaufklärung durchgeführt. Charakteristisch ist das Vorliegen von MX2-Zickzackketten in Kanälen von Alkaliatomen.Die neuen ternären intermetallischen Verbindungen CsRu2As2 und CsRh2As2 kristallisieren, nach Pulveraufnahmen beurteilt, in der ThCr2Si2-Struktur (Raumgruppe I4/mmm).
