A pulsed nuclear-magnetic-resonance (NMR) thermometer with platinum as a probe, which can operate at the NMR frequencies of 62.5, 125, 250, and 500 kHz, has been constructed. All of the various pulsed NMR sequences can be executed by commands from a microprocessor. The present system has excellent performance characteristics such as long-term stability, high resolution (16 bits), full automatic operation, and simplicity in electronic circuitry. It has been used at temperatures as low as 0.45 mK.
