    CTD measurements collected during the MARUM Waveglider Adelante mission (2020)

    Description: During the Adelante Mission, CTD data near the ocean surface have been collected by utilizing an autonomous surface vehicle, the Wave Glider® SV3 of Liquid Robotics operated by MARUM. The real-time data coming from the surface drone were transmitted via an Iridium satellite using the OpenDAM module and subsequently reformatted to be directly fed the data into PANGAEA.

    Description: Air pressure data at the ocean surface have been collected by utilizing an autonomous surface vehicle, the Wave Glider® SV3 of Liquid Robotics operated by MARUM. The Vaisala PTB 220 sensor had been provided and calibrated by the German Weather Service DWD (Henry Kleta). The real-time data coming from the surface drone were transmitted via an Iridium satellite using the OpenDAM module and subsequently reformatted to be directly fed the data into GTS and PANGAEA.

    Description: The main goal of cruise MSM61 was to install an autonomous multidisciplinary observatory at the summit of Senghor Seamount off the Cape Verdean archipelago. A suite of different mobile and moored instrument platforms equipped with physical, biological and biogeochemical instruments was deployed during the cruise in order to investigate spatio-temporal variability of physical and biogeochemical conditions and how these affect the local ecosystem at this openocean seamount. The research program further included hydrographic work, biological and biogeochemical sampling as well as video transects in the meso- and bathypelagic zones both at Senghor Seamount and at the Cape Verde Ocean Observatory (CVOO).
