    Description / Table of Contents: Summary Seven female patients with pseudo-lupus erythematosus (LE)-syndrome had markedly reduced lymphocyte counts in their peripheral blood during the active phase of the disease. One patient, we were able to study during the active phase of her disease, had a diminuation of spontaneous rosettes-forming (T-)lymphocytes, using neuraminidase-treated sheep red blood cells for the test. In this case the percentage of surface-immunoglobulin-bearing (B-)lymphocytes determined by an indirect immunofluorescence technique was augmented. In comparison with 20 normal controls 6 other patients did not show any alterations in the relation of B- and T-lymphocytes in the peripheral blood. 5 patients had circulating lymphocytotoxic antibodies in their serum. A specificity of these antibodies for T-lymphocytes could not be realized.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Bei 7 Patientinnen mit Pseudo-Lupus erythematodes (LE)-Syndrom waren die absoluten Lymphozytenzahlen im peripheren Blut während der aktiven Phase der Erkrankung deutlich vermindert. Bei einer im akuten Schub der Erkrankung untersuchten Patientin konnte darüber hinaus auch eine Verminderung der spontanRosetten-bildenden (T-)Lymphozyten mit Hilfe des Spontan-Rosetten-Tests unter Verwendung von Neuraminidase-behandelten Hammel-Erythrozyten festgestellt werden. Der Anteil Oberflächenimmunglobulin-tragender (B-)Lymphozyten war in diesem Falle im indirekten Immunfluoreszenz-Test relativ vermehrt. Die 6 übrigen Patienten zeigten keine Veränderungen im Verhältnis der B- und T-Lymphozyten im peripheren Blut. Bei 5 Patientinnen konnten zirkulierende lymphozytotoxische Antikörper im Serum mit Hilfe der Mikrozytotoxizitäts-Technik nachTerasaki festgestellt werden. Eine T-Lymphozyten-Spezifität dieser Antikörper war jedoch nicht nachweisbar.

    Notes: Abstract The specificity of the mouse class I-specific antibody COB6-3 was examined in detail. It was found to react with the mouse class I molecules H-2Db, Kd, and Qa-2, and with human HLA-A, −B, −C antigens. The specificity pattern of COB6-3, despite its different origin, was similar to that of the monomorphic HLA class I-specific antibody W6/32. Cross-inhibition studies show that on human cells the antigenic determinants recognized by the two antibodies are situated close together and may be identical. On mouse cells, reactivity of both antibodies was generated upon replacement of mouse beta-2 microglobulin (B2m) with its bovine counterpart, but differences in specificity were observed using human B2m.
