    Description / Table of Contents: Ring-Chain-Tautomerism of γ-KetoamidesAmides of o-acylated benzoic acids are shown to exist only in the cyclic form by i. r. and n. m. r. spectroscopy, while β-acylated propionamides are cyclic and/or open. Both tautomeric forms of a γ-ketoamide (5 a) have been isolated for the first time. - The significance of the spectroscopic results is compared, and the relations between ring-chain-tautomerism and the structure of the ketoamides are discussed.
    Notes: Nach den IR- und NMR-Spektren liegen Amide o-acylierter Benzoesäuren ausschließlich in der cyclischen Form vor, während bei β-acylierten Propionsäureamiden cyclische und offen-kettige Isomere-gelegentlich auch nebeneinander-vorkommen. Es wurden zum ersten Male beide Tautomeren eines Ketoamids (5 a) isoliert. - Die Aussagekraft der spektro-skopischen Methoden und die Strukturabhängigkeit der Ring-Ketten-Tautomerie werden diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Imides and Imide-like Systems, XII Wittig Olefinations of N-Bridgehead Bicyclic ImidesN-Bridgehead bicyclic imides 1 and 2 react with (ethoxycarbonylmethylene)triphenylphosphorane or (cyanomethylene)triphenylphosphorane to form mono- and diolefins (3-6). The reaction takes place preferentially at 5-membered-ring carbonyl groups. The configurations of the products are proved by their spectra.
    Notes: Die N-brückenkopf-bicyclischen Imide 1 und 2 reagieren mit Triphenylphosphin-äthoxycarbonylmethylen und Triphenylphosphin-cyanmethylen unter Mono- und Bis-olefinierung (3-6). Die Umsetzung gelingt bevorzugt an 5-Ring-Carbonylgruppen. Die Konfigurationen der synthetisierten Verbindungen werden durch ihre Spektren bewiesen.

Kondensation von 7a zum Enaminnitril 8 und anschließende dehydrierende Acetylierung führt zum substituierten diatropen 10b,10c-Diazadicyclopentaheptalen 9.

    Description / Table of Contents: Contributions to the Chemistry of 8b,8c-Diazapyracylene1,1′-Bipyrroles 7 are prepared from 1-succinimidopyrrole (6) and stabilized phosphoranes. The Vilsmeier reaction occurs at the substituted pyrrole ring of the diester 7b to give 13 and at the unsubstituted ring of the dinitrile 7a to yield the aldehydes 14a and b. Intramolecular condensation of 14a affords the 8a,8b-diaza-as-indacene 15 which is transformed into the 8b,8c-diazapyracylenes 2b and c under the conditions of the Vilsmeier reaction. By comparison of the properties of 2b and c with those of the parent compound 2a it is found that 8b,8c-diazapyracylenes contain independently closed π-systems (formula B). There is some evidence for the influence of the 12π-electron perimeter.
    Notes: 1,1′-Bipyrrole 7 werden aus 1-Succinimidopyrrol (6) und stabilisierten Phosphoranen dargestellt. Die anschließende Vilsmeier-Reaktion erfolgt am substituierten Pyrrolring des Diesters 7b zu 13 bzw. am unsubstituierten Ring des Nitrils 7a unter Bildung der Aldehyde 14a und b. Intramolekulare Kondensation von 14a ergibt das 8a,8b-Diaza-as-indacen 15, aus dem unter den Bedingungen der Vilsmeier-Reaktion die 8b,8c-Diazapyracylene 2b und c entstehen. Ein Vergleich der Eigenschaften der Derivate 2b und c mit denen der Stammverbindung 2a führt zu dem Schluß, daß 8b,8c-Diazapyracylene aus abgeschlossenen Teilsystemen bestehen, die nur geringe Wechselwirkungen aufeinander ausüben (Formel B). Gleichzeitig ist ein Einfluß des 12π-Elektronenperimeters nachweisbar.

    Description / Table of Contents: On the Tautomerism of 2,5-Disubstituted PyrrolesThe isomerization 1 ⇌ 2 has been investigated in acidic solutions. Equilibria could be observed in two instances starting from both sides at ambient temperature. Their positions have been determined by means of 1H NMR spectroscopy (1a:2a = 8:1; 1b:2b = 30:1), pyrroles (1c-1e) being observed only in the remaining instances. The relative stability of the tautomers 1 and 2 has been discussed.
    Notes: Die säurekatalysierte Isomerisierung 1 ⇌ 2 wurde untersucht. In zwei Fällen konnten bei Raumtemperatur Gleichgewichte beobachtet und 1H-NMR-spektroskopisch quantitativ von beiden Seiten aus bestimmt werden (1a: 2a = 8:1; 1b: 2b = 30:1). In den übrigen untersuchten Fällen wurden lediglich Pyrrolisomere (1c-1e) beobachtet. Die Strukturabhängigkeit der relativen Stabilität der Tautomere 1 und 2 wird diskutiert.

    Notes: Die Darstellung einiger in 3-und 4-Stellung substituierter N-Methyl-phthalimide wird beschrieben. Die IR-Spektren der Verbindungen zeigen einen Zusammenhang zwischen der Lage der CO-Banden und den Hammettschen Substituentenkonstanten. Die Hydrolysengeschwindigkeit (alkalisch) der Imide zu den entsprechenden Amidsäuren wurde bei 25° in Wasser/Tetrahydrofuran (101:1) bestimmt. Die Reaktion ist 2. Ordnung. Aus den Geschwindigkeitskonstanten folgt, bei Anwendung einer von Taft modifizierten Hammett-Gleichung, eine starke Abschwächung des Ortho-Effektes sowie ein zusätzlicher Resonanzeffekt.
