Description: This paper presents a large scale (1/10000) bathymetric chart along with the beach (s.l.) and shoreface schemes of Port-Bouet littoral. All these charts and maps contributed to identify the three morphological sub-areas which characterize the whole littoral area of Port-Bouet.

Description: This study deals with the present morphology of the Bandama river mouth in Grand-Lahou (Côte d'Ivoire). At the interface water-sediment channels and shallows appear, covered respectively by fine and medium sands. Topographic surveys conducted from 1989 to 1993 show significant migration of the river mouth from east to west. The average migration rate is about 1.1 meter per mouth. Although for the past two years , a rate of about 3.5 meters per month was observed.

Description: The Bassam artificial inlet was opened (in September 22, 1987) in order to revacuate offshore invasive aquatic plants. This has considerably modified the hydro-sedimentary environment of the lagoonal domain at Grand-Bassam. Tidal currents effect has confered the lagoonal waters an estuarine feature, the saline intrusion (25-35%o) increased beyond the Moossou bridges up to the confluence of the Comoe river. This has led to a cleaning of the river lower course and above all to the bottoms of the lagoon, which were previously confined. The remobilization of mud (from lagoonal bottoms around Bouet Island) evacuated offshore, has exposed lagoonal and oceanic sandy features. This new system remains fragile, with the seasonal (low river-flow) clogging.

Notes: A method to measure the electron mobility in organics is demonstrated. Bilayer organic light-emitting diodes composed of donor-type and acceptor-type materials often show exciplex emission. We employed a triphenyldiamine derivative and an oxadiazole derivative (PBD) as hole and electron transporters, respectively, and confirmed that the emission is from exciplex. From the transient response of the device after application of pulsed voltage, the electron mobility of neat PBD film was evaluated to be 2.0×10−5 cm2/V s under the electric field of 1 MV/cm. © 2002 American Institute of Physics.

Notes: Six haploid plants of radish were obtained via alien monosomic addition lines (2n = 19). One plant was derived from anther culture of an Raphanus sativus-Brassica oleracea addition line, one plant from the selected smaller seed of an R. sativus-Sinapis arvensis addition line and four plants from an R. sativus-B. rapa addition line. During metaphase I of pollen mother cells, two plants exhibited the chromosome pairing of (0-3)II+ (3-9)I, three showed (0-1)III + (0-3)II + (3-9)I and the remaining plant (0-2)II + (5-9)I. Trivalents seemed to be formed by the pairing between two larger chromosomes and the smaller one with somewhat loose pairing. All haploid plants were inferior to the radish cv. ‘Shogoin’ (2n = 18) with respect to vegetative growth. Their flowers were smaller, with sterile pollen grains, but a few normal flowers with fertile pollen sporadically developed and then produced a few seeds. It is suggested that the radish genome (R, n = 9) might comprise three pairs of homoeologous chromosomes, with the remaining three chromosomes carrying the homologous region(s) that results in a trivalent formation.
