Abstract: High pressure water abrasive jet nozzle is key part of the particles acceleration. The diameter of nozzle has important effect for jet fluid. Through experiment and simulation explore the relationship between nozzle diameter and jet fluid cutting capacity. The result indicate: ①the cut depth and broad reduced in linearly relationship with the diameter of the jet nozzle. ②In same pressure, decrease the nozzle diameter will reduce the cutting ratio energy; ③The acceleration and attenuation of the nozzle axial flow in different diameters are basically consistent, The smaller nozzle diameter, The flow acceleration will slower, the attenuation will faster, the is velocity core segment will shorter and the cutting ability will lower;Consider from energy consumption, cutting efficiency and other factors, for common material cutting the nozzle preferred diameter is: 0.6~1.0mm, it’s unfavourable to select the 0.2mm diameter

Abstract: Occurrence of combustion phenomenon in porous media has always excited researchers to develop various shape and size of burner so that maximum utilization of energy can be taken achieved. Here in this experiential work, dual layer micro burner was exclusively built to carry out porous media combustion characteristic with different type of discrete material in reaction zone. Presently, only alumina and zirconia are compared in discrete form, while preheat layer was made of porcelain ceramic material (foam type). Reaction zone was restricted to thickness of 20mm while preheat zone at 10mm. A concept of equivalence ratio was aided since it involves premixed combustion of air and butane as fuel mixture. Additionally, burner was made to run under lean to ultra-lean modes and finest temperature were recorded. Both surface and submerged flame was generated effectively. Maximum temperatures recorded during surface and submerged flame condition was better by installing alumina rather than zirconia there by reaching a value of 631°C and 470°C respectively. Thus maximum thermal efficiency was calculated and found out to be 84%. Finally, emission parameters like NOx and CO where monitored and found out to be well within acceptable limits.

Abstract: As a novel lightweight material, AZ31B magnesium alloy is considered as the most potential material to instead baseline steel in some automotive parts. However, their structural use is quite limited and so far proper numerical modeling has not been developed to represent magnesium alloy. In present study, the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) test is utilized to investigate material dynamic mechanism for AZ31B-H24 over a wide range of strain rates from 1389 s -1 to 7296 s -1 . Parametric identification for Johnson-Cook (J-C) constitutive model available in the commercial finite element package LS-DYNA is carried out. Proper parameters are obtained by curve fit using genetic algorithm with experimental results. Constitutive model after parametric identification is applied to automotive outer panels for crashworthiness analysis. Energy absorption with magnesium alloy substituted baseline steel under lightweight 51.18% is obtained and the key problem of thin-walled magnesium alloy applied in automotive structure is advanced.

Abstract: The ultimate breaking strength of conductors always plays a vital role in the long-term safe operation of transmission lines and it should be carefully considered in the designing of a conductor. While limited literature has been released regarding the strength calculation of ACCC (Aluminum Conductor Composite Core) conductors. In this study, a finite element method based on real conductor samples is proposed to evaluate the strength of the ACCC conductor, and investigate on how diameters (or sectional areas) of the composite core and aluminum strands influence the conductors’ breaking strength, thereby helping engineers design a proper diameter of an ACCC conductor. The finite element analysis shows that increasing the sectional area of the composite core leads to a larger breaking strength than increasing an equal sectional areas of aluminum strands, which is in line with the tensile experimental results. In specific, the relative errors between the simulated breaking strength and the experimental results are as low as less than 3%. Therefore, the finite element method presented in this work, to some extent, fills in the blank of strength calculation for ACCC conductors, and in practical terms, it could serves as guidelines for conductor-design engineers.

Abstract: In this paper, a mechanism of visual servoing for mobile microrobot with a centralized camera is developed. Especially for the development of swarm AI applications. In the fields of microrobots the size of robots is minimal and the amount of movement is also small. By replacing various sensors that is needed with a single centralized vision sensor we can eliminate a lot of components and the need for calibration on every robot. A study and design for a visual servoing mobile microrobot has been developed. This system can use multi object tracking and hough transform to identify the positions of the robots. And can control multiple robots at once with an accuracy of 5-6 pixel from the desired target.

Abstract: By absorbing the advantages of the rotary-driven Delta robot and linear-driven Delta robot, a Delta robot for pick-and-place operation that forms a crank-slider at the drive joint is designed. To take the most common gate shaped curve in Cartesian space as the motion trail of robotic pick-and-place operation, according to the kinematics inverse solution theory of Delta robot, this thesis mainly solves the output angular velocity of robot-driven joint. Establishing the static transfer mathematical model and solving the forced condition of driving joint. The simulation analysis show that after the upper slider-crank mechanism is connected to the driving joint, the angular velocity of the driving joint changes suddenly, which caused a rigid impact on the robot in the picking and releasing operation, though the force of the driving joint can be made smaller.

Abstract: The transmission structure of a 2K-H multistage micro-planetary gear transmission reducer is described in detail, and three assumptions are supposed in dynamic modelling. On basis of these assumptions, a three stages 2K-H micro-planetary gear transmission dynamic model is established, in which the relative displacement each meshing gear pairs can be obtained after including the comprehensive transmission error. According to gear kinematics, the friction arms between the sun gear, the ring gear and the n th planet are also obtained, and the friction coefficient in the mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication is considered, the transmission system motion differential equations are obtained, including above factors and the time-varying meshing stiffness, damping and backlash, inter-stage coupling stiffness, it can be provided an theoretical foundation for further analysing the parameter sensitivity, dynamic stability and designing.

Abstract: A new development for the accurate measurement of the inertia parameters for heavy truck engine is presented. It is specifically intended for measuring the inertia properties of vehicle bodies, and it has the potential to be applied to the measurement of the properties of vehicle bodies, such as the vehicle powertrain, engine, and gearbox. This paper, based on CATARC MIMS test rig, develops an accurate measuring method to identify inertia parameters of heavy truck engine. Firstly corresponding tests are carried out and the lever principle and moments of inertia parallel theorem are employed to calculate and analyze the test results, which leads to the accurate value of inertia parameters. Secondly the accuracy of proposed method is verified through the calibration system. As a result the method shows high accuracy, which provides an experimental basis for accurate inertia parameters measurement of heavy truck engine.

Abstract: The present paper deals with the transient magnetic model of the magnetorheological (MR) damper and its experimental verification. The response time of MR damper affects the quality of semi-active control of this damper. The lower the response time, the higher the system efficiency. The most important part of the response time of the MR damper is the response time of magnetic field of the MR damper which can be determined by transient magnetic model. The transient magnetic model was created by the software Ansys Electromagnetics 17.1 as 2D axisymmetric and verified by measurement of magnetic field in the gap of MR damper piston. The maximum difference between the model and the experiment was 28 %. The response time depends on the electric current in the coil of MR damper. The transient magnetic model was used for determination of influence of MR fluid type, material of cover and material of magnetic circuit on the response time of magnetic field of MR damper. The type of MR fluid has a significant influence on the response time. The lower the mass concentration of ferromagnetic particles, the lower the response time of magnetic field. A material selection of magnetic circuit is always a trade-off between the response time and the maximum magnetic flux density (dynamic force range) in the gap of the MR damper. According to the verified transient magnetic model, it is possible to find a suitable material of magnetic circuit for specific application (response time).
