Abstract: The aim of this study was to examine and determine hygiene habits in the adolescent population depending on whether the Covid 19 pandemic affected the improvement of hygiene habits in the same population. The research is designed as a cross-sectional study. A questionnaire created using the Google Docs platform was used as an instrument. The sample consisted of 89 respondents of both sexes, aged 18 to 23 years. The analysis shows that there is a difference in maintaining hygienic habits before and after the introduction of the state of emergency. In 20.22% of cases, hygienic habits were better during the state of emergency, and after the mitigation of measures, compared to the period before the introduction of the state of emergency, and in 5.62% of respondents hygienic habits were worse, while in 74.16% of respondents there were no change in hygienic habits. The analysis of the use of disinfectants and masks shows that 60.68% of respondents used disinfectants and masks more often after mitigation of emergency measures compared to the period before the introduction of the state of emergency, 5.62% of respondents used less, while in 33.70 % of respondents there were no changes in the use of disinfectants and masks. The results of this study show a positive relationship between hygiene habits before and during the Covid 19 pandemic, and after mitigation, as well as between the use of disinfectants and masks before and during the Covid 19 pandemic, and after mitigation, which justifies further research in this area.

Abstract: Objective. Infectious diseases have always been a challenge for medicine and healthcare workers. In addition to the enormous progress of medicine, they still represent a major public health problem. The pandemic caused by Covid-19 shows that. Due to the pandemic itself, the overload of the health care system, the fear of infection, the reallocation of health resources to respond to the pandemic, and other measures to control and suppress the infection, routine immunization services for children have been disrupted around the world. The aim of the work is to examine the impact of Covid-19 on the frequency of immunization of children with mandatory vaccines. Methods. Through retrospective analysis of data from the annual reports of the WHO and the Institute for Public Health of the Republic of Serbia "Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut", comparative data on coverage of required vaccination against infectious diseases in the Republic of Serbia was provided. Results. The results of a five-year analysis in the Republic of Serbia indicate that coverage of more than 95% was met only with immunization against tuberculosis, while against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough, coverage of 95% was until 2019, only to record a decline later. In 2021, a percentage decrease can be seen for all vaccines except the tuberculosis vaccine, and the lowest coverage is for the MMR vaccine (74.8%). In Serbia, in 2020 compared to 2019, the percentage of people vaccinated with the MMR vaccine decreased by 9.9%, i.e. by 3.3% in 2021 compared to 2020, and the data for central Serbia show a decrease of 11.6% in time period from 2019 to 2021. Conclusion. The trend of decline in immunization coverage of mandatory vaccines in Serbia follows the global trend, with the exception of the MMR vaccine, where a significantly greater decline is recorded in Serbia.

Abstract: Although midwifery in Serbia has a long tradition, in the last decades, and especially in the last years since the Republic of Serbia is in the process of joining the European Union, this profession faces numerous challenges both in the context of formal education and the role that in the 21st century midwife has in practice. The midwife profession is faced with numerous challenges related to demographic trends and demands and expectations of a contemporary woman. The aim of the paper was to examine the difference in standards in the education of midwives in Serbia, and the neighbouring countries and Europe. Professional publications related to education and practice of midwives, published in Serbia, the neighbouring countries and Europe have been used. According to the presentation of standards and competencies of midwives in Serbia and education standards under Directive 2005/36/EZ and 2013/55/EU as well as the role and tasks midwives have in our country and European countries, there is a need for harmonization of standards in the education of midwife nurses and accreditation of joint study programs of professional master studies for nurses and midwives within the educational system of Serbia, all in the context of new paradigm of health care, which implies a holistic approach to women's health, a personalized approach and a self-protection concept. It is necessary to reform the education system of midwives in Serbia in accordance with the requirements of Directive2005/36/EZ, 2013/55/EU.

Abstract: Uvod/Cilj. Transformisuci faktor rasta ?1 (TGF-?1), oksidativni stres i disbalans izmedju matriks metaloproteinaza (MMPs) i njihovih tkivnih inhibitora (TIMPs) igraju vaznu ulogu u patogenezi pseudoeksfolijativnog sindroma/ glaukoma PEX Sy/Gl.

Abstract: Background/Aim. Psoriasis is a chronic multisystem, inflammatory and immune-mediated dermatological disease of a relapsing nature. It does not only affect objective parameters such as skin and joint, with different intensity involvement with changes and the degree of changes but also significantly affects the health-related quality of life. The aim of the study was to determine the clinical severity and quality of life of patients with moderate to severe psoriasis and to examine the association between those parameters before and after the treatment. Methods. This cross-sectional study included 183 patients diagnosed with moderate to severe psoriasis. The severity of the clinical picture was determined by calculating Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) by a dermatologist, while the quality of life was assessed using Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) questionnaire and the Psoriasis Life Stress Inventory (PLSI). Disease severity and quality of life were measured at the baseline visit and after 16th week of therapy. Results. The average PASI score at the beginning of therapy was 23.1?6.5, while after the 16 weeks, this value was 4.36?4.86. The DLQI score was 20.8?5.0 at the start of therapy and 6.20?6.16 after 16 weeks. The PLSI score was 35.37?8.84 initially and 12.75?12.82 after the 16 weeks of therapy. On the assessment of the correlation between the PASI and PLSI, the PASI score was found to be in a high positive correlation with the PLSI (r=0.702, ?〈0.001) in the 16th week of therapy, but the correlation is moderate between the DLQI and PASI (r=0.683, ?〈0.001). We failed to find any significant differences between PASI and DLQI scores (r=0.080, ?=0.284) and between PASI and PLSI scores (r=0.109, ?=0.140) in the baseline. Conclusion. Patients with severe psoriasis experience a significant reduction in their quality of life, accompanied by a high level of psychosocial stress. Observed improvements in quality of life have shown a moderate correlation, while lower levels of psychosocial stress have strongly correlated with the severity of the clinical presentation. This may indicate a complex interaction between psychological factors and physical health in patients with psoriasis.

Abstract: Background: We aimed to identify the quality of life (QoL) of patients with psoriasis, to determine the possible differences depending on the therapeutic modalities (biologic, conventional treatment and phototherapy), and to examine other variables that could affect the success of the treatment. Methods: This research was a non-experimental, quantitative, observational study that included 183 psoriasis patients. The study was conducted from November 2021 to December 2022 at the University Clinical Center Kragujevac, Serbia. The following instruments were used: Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), as well as a general questionnaire that contained a set of questions which referred to sociodemographic data. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in the average values of the DLQI score concerning the application of different therapeutic modalities (P 〈 0.001). Biologic treatment was the modality with the lowest impairments in the QoL domain (average value of DLQI score 10.6±7.3), followed by patients on conventional treatment (average value of DLQI score 12.9±7.9), and the highest levels of impaired QoL were in patients who received phototherapy (average value of the DLQI score 13.7±9.3). Conclusion: Patients on biological therapy at all four time points individually (baseline, 4, 12 and 16 weeks) had the lowest average values of the DLQI score, i.e. the best QoL compared to subjects who received other therapy.

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented stress on healthcare professionals worldwide. Since resilience and mentalizing capacity play very important preventive roles when it comes to mental health, the main goal of this study was to determine whether the capacity for mentalizing and resilience could explain the levels of depression, anxiety, and stress among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was conducted in Serbia on a sample of 406 healthcare workers (141 doctors and 265 nurses) aged 19 to 65 (M = 40.11, SD = 9.41). The participants’ mental health status was evaluated using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale—DASS-42. The Reflective Functioning Questionnaire was used to evaluate the capacity for mentalizing. Resilience was assessed using the Brief Resilience Scale. The results of the correlation analysis showed that there were negative correlations between resilience and all three dimensions of mental health status: depression, anxiety, and stress. Hypermentalizing was negatively correlated with depression, anxiety, and stress, while hypomentalizing was positively correlated. Hierarchical linear regression analysis showed that both resilience and hypermentalizing were significant negative predictors of depression, anxiety, and stress, and that hypomentalizing was a significant positive predictor of depression, anxiety, and stress. Furthermore, socioeconomic status was a significant negative predictor of depression, anxiety, and stress. Marital status, number of children, and work environment were not statistically significant predictors of any of the three dimensions of mental health status among the healthcare workers in this study. There is an urgent need to establish and implement strategies to foster resilience and enhance the capacity for mentalizing among healthcare workers in order to minimize the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health.

Hormonalni disbalans ( narocito pad androgena), neurogena disfunkcija, povisen nivo proinflamatornih citokina, kao i gubitak imunoloske homeostaze suzne zlezde i povrsine oka, predstavljaju potencijalne mehanizme patogeneze suvog oka. Radom se ukazuje na savremene patogenetske mehanizme nastanka i tretmana suvog oka. Adekvatno lecenje suvog oka pretpostavlja poznavanje svih postojecih farmakoloskih i nefarmakoloskih modaliteta terapije. Osnova terapije su vestacke suze u kombinaciji sa antiinflamatornom terapijom i okluzijom punktuma, kao drugom i trecom linijom terapije.
