Abstract:
The treatment of anorexia nervosa patients is complex and requires a multidisciplinary team because, in addition to nutritional symptoms, psychiatric symptomatologies such as depression, anxiety or obsessive‐compulsive disorder are common comorbidities. Anorexia nervosa, depression, anxiety and obsessive‐compulsive disorder are mediated by inflammatory markers whose synthesis is inhibited by the action of omega‐3. The omega‐3 supplementation as an adjuvant treatment showed no evidence of effect in eating and psychological symptoms in patients with anorexia nervosa.
