Abstract:
In the current study, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Distress Thermometer (DT), a patient‐reported outcome measure, was completed at 12,569 visits by 1029 women with breast cancer in a single health system over 2.5 years. When examined longitudinally in consecutive patients, the NCCN DT can provide patient‐specific, disease‐specific, and treatment‐specific data regarding the cancer care trajectory, thereby informing expectations and guiding both targeted support and shared decision making for patients with breast cancer.
