Abstract:
There is little knowledge of the effect of whole-body vibration on a diver working under water. During underwater work the diver is subject to the direct influence of the tool vibration as well as vibration transmitted to his body. The sole aim of this study was hand-arm vibration from hydraulic drills. The test proved that the allowed vibration level was exceeded, especially within the low frequency region from 6.3 Hz up to 125 Hz. These initial results have been applied to the design of a new tool with reduced vibration levels.
