Abstract:
The article examines the issues of ensuring the environmental safety of the RussianFederation, and also analyzes the role of the state in these processes. For Russia, the problemof ensuringenvironmental safetyis extremely relevant due to the need to expand the scope of industrial production in the context of theglobal environmental crisis. This problem is aggravated even more in connection with the course of our countrytowardssustainable development, which a priori implies a reduction in the anthropogenic load on the environment. Under these conditions, the role of the state in ensuring environmental safety increases significantly, sinceit isthestatethat determines the main directions of environmental activities, establishes legal regulators andorganizationalmechanisms for its implementation, and allocates material and financial resources for the implementationofspecific activities. The mechanism for ensuring environmental safety, which is being formed inRussia, isconsideredby the authors not within the framework of the traditional, i.e. organizational-legal approach, but withintheframework of an integrated approach, involving its consideration in the unity of three components: cultural, economic-technological and legal. Moreover, the cultural component, according to the authors, is fundamental inthismechanism, since it reflects the environmental consciousness of citizens, the level of development of whichdetermines the success of the state environmental policy.
