Abstract:
The objective of this research is to determine the influence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the business competitiveness of Arequipa microenterprises. This research is conclusive, since it provides information and general understanding about the implementation and use of ICT. For this research, the techniques of documentary observation, interview, focus group and questionnaire were applied. The documentary observation allowed a clear understanding and explanation of the subject of study. Likewise, interviews were carried out with professionals with knowledge in the use of ICT; Simultaneously, Focus Groups were held with microentrepreneurs to identify their motivation and enthusiasm for using them, as well as their willingness to learn about new technological tools that allow them to improve productivity and competitiveness. Finally, surveys were applied to determine the adoption of ICTs in microenterprises. The results showed that, thanks to these tools, Arequipa microentrepreneurs were able to increase their sales, improve customer service, as well as training their employees. Likewise, communication with suppliers improved and it was possible to make payments in a simplified way. This allows us to conclude that ICT positively favors micro-enterprises located in Arequipa, helping to achieve greater productivity, increasing market coverage and showing a notable improvement in their competitiveness.
