Abstract: The emotional ties with the parents and the support received from them have an important influence on the personality development of the individual (Disintegration and individualization play an important role in the development of the individual. University has an important place in the process of being an individual for the young people. The young people who leave their family for the first time have different experiences in the process of separation and individuation. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between attachment and personality traits of first year students who enrolled in different departments of the Faculty of Education at KOU University in the 2017-2018 academic year. In this study, the relational screening model which is a descriptive research method was employed. The Big Five Factor inventory and the scale of psychometric assessment of the Inventory of Parents and Peer Attachment-Short Form were used. Participants are a total of 267 people, 196 females and 69 males. The average age of the participants is 18. As a result of the study, there was a significant relationship between the participants’ parental attachment characteristics and the personality traits such as extroversion, tender mindedness and consociationalism. There was a low negative correlation between neuroticism and father attachment scores. Gender, mother's education level and number of siblings were found to be effective on the young people's secure attachment to their parents. Support programs about extroversion, self-discipline and consociationalism can be organized for the students with a low level of attachment. In this regard, in the further studies, research about developing self-discipline and appropriate coping strategies for those with low father attachment can be done.

Abstract: The main goal of the present study was to examine the effect of Structural Family Therapy (SFT) based psychoeducation program on family functionality in families of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This study was an experimental study based on the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test model, with experimental and control groups. Family functionality, which was the dependent variable of the study, was measured with the Mc Master Family Assessment Device (FAD). The independent variable of the research was the psychoeducation program applied only to the experimental group. The research consisted of parents who have children between 7-10 years of age diagnosed with ADHD. A 10-week psychoeducation program developed by the researcher based on SFT was offered to the experimental group. Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank tests were used in the analysis of the data. The results obtained from the study found out a significant difference (p 〈 .05) between the post-test scores of the control and experimental group. Additionally, a significant difference (p 〈 .05) was found between the FAD scores of the parents in the experimental group before and after the experiment. The results showed that the SFT based psychoeducation program applied to parents was effective in increasing family functionality.

Abstract: Number of people with speech and language disorders is increasing every day (McLeod & amp; McKinnon, 2007, p. 41). This can negatively impact the academic performance and decrease the psychosocial well-being of the people with speech and language disorders. Teachers play a significant role in diagnosing and treatment of these disorders. Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of candidate teachers towards speech and language disorders. The sample consisted of 40 candidate teachers from Kocaeli University and a self-administered survey by Togram and Mavis (2009, s.74) was completed. The main findings of the study reveal that the majority of the candidate teachers believe that speech and language therapies should be carried in therapy rooms instead of social settings like schools. More than half of the participants (77.5%) agreed that people with speech and language disorders can easily transfer the learned abilities in therapies without any additional support from the teachers (87.5%). All of the participants (100 %) have positive attitudes observing the therapy sessions and know the importance of being informed about the communicational needs of the students. The majority of participating candidate teachers also believed that the causes of speech and language disorders are psychological (60 %) and these are also risk factors for the future learning disorders. Most of the candidate teachers disagreed with the statement that children will not be able to learn reading because of the speech problems (75%).

Abstract: This study is made to determine the predictive powers of the perceived social support, parental attitude, school success, school change and living in different area of residences variables in the students of 8.grade who are exposed to peer-victimization. The data of the research has been procured from 550 students who are the eighth-grader in Diyarbakır and Kocaeli. The data related to the predicted variable has been collected by using Peer-victimization Scale (Mynard & Joseph, 2000) and the data related to the predictor variables has been gathered by using the Perceived Social Support Scale – Revised Form (Yıldırım, 2004), the Parental Attitude Scale (Lamborn, Mounts, Steinberg & Dornbush, 1991) and the Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher. The statistical analysis of the gathered data has been performed in computer by using SPSS 11.5 packaged software. Multiple Regression Analysis is used in determining the variables predicting peer-victimization exposure which is the purpose of the study. On the other hand, the Stepwise Regression Analysis is implemented in order to determine the explanatory variables having high correlation coefficient and the predicted variable. The findings obtained by the research can be summerized as the following: School success, perceived social support and authoritarian parental attitude are the variables predicting the peer-victimization exposure. It has been found out that the other variables in the analysis do not predict the exposure of the students to the peer-victimization. The findings obtained in the research are discussed and commented and suggestions have been made based on the facts.

Abstract: This study examined the effect of fathers’ perceptions of fatherhood through online meetings with fathers who have preschool children between 3-6 years of age. A total of 42 fathers (21 fathers in the experimental group and 21 fathers in the control group) took part in the study. The research design with a pretest and posttest control group was used in the research. The “Fatherhood Role Perception Scale” developed by Kuzucu (1999) was used for data collection. Within the scope of the research, online fathers meet-up training was held for the experimental group once a week throughout 11 weeks. The data were analysed using the Mann Whitney U and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test (nonparametric tests). According to the data obtained in the research, it was concluded that the online fathers’ meet-up training was significantly effective on fathers’ perceptions of the fatherhood role. The study’s findings were discussed, and suggestions were listed for future studies in the relevant literature.
