    Abstract: A kind of float glass spot defect, characterized by small size, metallic luster, and difficult to clean, adheres only to the lower surface (contacts with molten tin) of the float glass ribbon. This defect causes serious production loss. Therefore, determining the precise source of this spot defect and the effective prevention of its occurrence is vital in the scientific interest and technological significance. Herein, we report a new idea for preventing glass spot defect resulting from roller hydrogen embrittlement (HE) via regulating protective atmosphere distribution. We also reveal its formation mechanism. The generation mechanism of this spot defect shows that the protective atmosphere in the tin bath diffuses into the annealing lehr. However, the annealing lehr does not effectively discharge it (particularly H 2 ). Thus, roller HE occurs. Opening the vent decreases the H 2 concentration around the roller. In addition, the vent is moved by ∼1 m in the original position toward the exit of the annealing lehr, which is most conducive to H 2 discharge. This optimization measure reduces or eliminates the spot defect caused by the HE of the roller. Moreover, it has great application potential in the design of float glass annealing lehr.

    Abstract: In this paper, Na 2 GdMg 2 (VO 4 ) 3 :Yb 3+ ,Er 3+ phosphors were synthesized through high‐temperature solid‐state method. According to X‐ray powder diffractogram, diffuse reflection spectra, scanning electron microscopy, up‐conversion (UC) emission spectra, power‐dependent UC spectra, fluorescent lifetime curves, and temperature‐dependent emission spectra, the crystal structures, UC luminescent characteristics, and the performances of temperature sensing by using fluorescence intensity ratio technique were studied in detail. Heavy‐doped phosphors with 59% (Yb 3+ and Er 3+ ) doping content are achieved. In addition, excited by 980nm laser, three characteristic luminescence peaks of Er 3+ at 525 nm ( 2 H 11/2 → 4 I 15/2 ), 550 nm ( 4 S 3/2 → 4 I 15/2 ) and 660 nm ( 4 F 9/2 → 4 I 15/2 ) emerge in the UC spectra of Er 3+ single‐doped and Yb 3+ ,Er 3+ co‐doped phosphors. UC spectra are dominated by green emission and greatly enhanced UC emission over 389 times is realized by introducing Yb 3+ . In addition, the ratiometric techniques of thermally coupled energy levels of Er 3+ (525/550 nm, 2 H 11/2 / 4 S 3/2 → 4 I 15/2 ) are used to achieve a wide range of temperature measurement. When the temperature is 303 K, relative sensitivity is as high as 0.976%K –1 . The minimal temperature resolution is 0.3 K@303 K. All experimental results show Yb 3+ ,Er 3+ co‐doped Na 2 GdMg 2 (VO 4 ) 3 phosphors might act as optical temperature sensing materials.

    Abstract: Chinese indigenous pigs exhibit considerable phenotypic diversity, but their population structure and the genetic basis of agriculturally important traits need further exploration. Here, we sequenced the whole genomes of 24 individual pigs representing 22 breeds distributed throughout China. For comparison with European and commercial breeds (one pig per breed), we included seven published pig genomes with our new genomes for analyses. Our results showed that breeds grouped together based on morphological classifications are not necessarily more genetically similar to each other than to breeds from other groups. We found that genetic material from European pigs likely introgressed into five Chinese breeds. We have identified two new subpopulations of domestic pigs that encompass morphology-based criteria in China. The Southern Chinese subpopulation comprises the classical South Chinese Type and part of the Central China Type . In contrast, the Northern Chinese subpopulation comprises the North China Type , the Lower Yangtze River Basin Type , the Southwest Type , the Plateau Type , and the remainder of the Central China Type . Eight haplotypes and two recombination sites were identified within a conserved 40.09 Mb linkage-disequilibrium (LD) block on the X chromosome. Potential candidate genes ( LEPR , FANCC , COL1A1 , and PCCA ) influencing body size were identified. Our findings provide insights into the phylogeny of Chinese indigenous pig breeds and benefit gene mining efforts to improve major economic traits.

    Abstract: The float glass contains various defects for reasons of raw materials and production process. These defects can be observed on the end images of the glass. Since the defects are correlated with specific links of the production process, it is possible to discover the process problems by identifying the location and type of defects in end images. Based on faster region-based convolutional neural network (Faster RCNN), this paper proposes a deep learning method that improves the feature extraction network, and adds a Laplacian convolutional layer to preprocess the end images. Considering the defect features in end images, the anchor box size was adjusted to speed up the training. Besides, the lack of generalizability induced by small dataset was solved through data enhancement. With improved VGG16 as the feature extraction layer, a glass defect detection model was established, whose generalizability was improved through transfer learning. The experimental results show that the proposed model achieved a mean detection accuracy of 94% on actual test set, meeting the requirements for actual use in factories.

    Abstract: Intestinal epithelial cells are critical for nutrient absorption and defending against pathogen infection. Deoxynivalenol (Don), the most common mycotoxin, contaminates cereals and food throughout the world, causes serious damage to mammal intestinal mucosa, and appears as intestinal epithelial cell apoptosis and proliferation inhibition. Our previous study has found that milk-derived exosome ameliorates Don-induced intestinal damage, but the mechanism is still not fully understood. In this study, we demonstrated that Don downregulated the expression of miR-221/222 in intestinal epithelial cells, and exosome treatment reversed the inhibitory effect of Don on miR-221/222. Through immunofluorescence and flow cytometry analysis, we identified that miR-221/222 ameliorates Don-induced apoptosis and proliferation inhibition in intestinal epithelial cells. Through bioinformatics analyses and RNA immunoprecipitation analysis, we identified Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) is the target of miR-221/222. Through the PTEN interfering experiment, we found Don-induced apoptosis and proliferation inhibition relied on PTEN. Finally, through adenovirus to overexpress miR-221/222 in mice intestinal epithelial cells specifically, our results showed that miR-221/222 ameliorated Don-induced apoptosis and proliferation inhibition in intestinal epithelial cells by targeting PTEN. This study not only expands our understanding of how miR-221/222 and the host gene PTEN regulate intestinal epithelial cells defending against Don-induced damage, but also provides a new way to protect the development of the intestine.

    Abstract: Accurate simulation and measurement of the residual stress are pressing needs in ultrathin glass (UTG) industrial stable production. Herein, the heat transfer in an annealing lehr and the residual stresses at different positions along the width of the UTG ribbon were simulated by the finite element method and measured via the Vickers indentation. The residual stresses at 400 and 600 mm to the edge were large, which caused serious production loss. Besides, we conducted molecular dynamics (MD) simulation to reveal the mechanism for residual stress formation. During UTG cooling, the cooling rate of the core is slower than that of the surface. Due to the influence of the relaxation process, the latter would hinder the former's R–O (where R is Na, Mg, Ca, Al, or Si) length contraction, implying that the surface would generate residual compressive stress. The temperature difference between them increases as the cooling rate grows, leading to the residual stress increase. Finally, based on revealing the formation principle of residual stress by MD, the edge electric heatings were set in zone B, and the residual stresses at 400 and 600 mm to the edge are reduced.
