    Abstract: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang được thực hiện nhằm mô tả thái độ an toàn của nhân viên y tế đang công tác tại Bệnh viện Đa khoa Thảo Nguyên. Nghiên cứu sử dụng bộ câu hỏi về thái độ an toàn (Safety Attitudes Questionnaire) được dịch sang tiếng Việt và được kiểm định độ tin cậy bởi Nguyễn Thị Huyền Trâm (Cronbach's alpha = 0,89). Kết quả cho thấy điểm thái độ an toàn của nhân viên y tế theo thang điểm 100 là 69,56 ± 8,91 (ở mức trung bình), khía cạnh sự hài lòng về công việc đạt điểm cao nhất (78,25 ± 14,67), tiếp theo là điều kiện công việc (72,51 ± 14,69), công tác quản lý bệnh viện (71,56 ± 11,72), môi trường làm việc nhóm (69,72 ± 11,53), môi trường an toàn (67,08 ± 9,63), thấp nhất là áp lực công việc (58,18 ± 14,67). Tỷ lệ nhân viên y tế có thái độ an toàn tích cực chiếm 22,7%. Thái độ an toàn của nhân viên y tế là nữ giới, chưa lập gia đình, điều dưỡng, trình độ đại học tốt hơn các nhân viên khác, sự khác biệt có ý nghĩa thống kê (p 〈 0,05). Bệnh viện cần tập trung cải thiện về các khía cạnh chưa đạt điểm tích cực và các yếu tố ảnh hưởng để nâng cao văn hóa an toàn người bệnh trong tương lai.

    Abstract: Little is known about the natural history of asymptomatic severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Methods We conducted a prospective study at a quarantine center for coronavirus disease 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We enrolled quarantined people with reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)–confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, collecting clinical data, travel and contact history, and saliva at enrollment and daily nasopharyngeal/throat swabs (NTSs) for RT-PCR testing. We compared the natural history and transmission potential of asymptomatic and symptomatic individuals. Results Between 10 March and 4 April 2020, 14 000 quarantined people were tested for SARS-CoV-2; 49 were positive. Of these, 30 participated in the study: 13 (43%) never had symptoms and 17 (57%) were symptomatic. Seventeen (57%) participants imported cases. Compared with symptomatic individuals, asymptomatic people were less likely to have detectable SARS-CoV-2 in NTS collected at enrollment (8/13 [62%] vs 17/17 [100%] ; P = .02). SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in 20 of 27 (74%) available saliva samples (7 of 11 [64%] in the asymptomatic group and 13 of 16 [81%] in the symptomatic group; P = .56). Analysis of RT-PCR positivity probability showed that asymptomatic participants had faster viral clearance than symptomatic participants (P  & lt; .001 for difference over the first 19 days). This difference was most pronounced during the first week of follow-up. Two of the asymptomatic individuals appeared to transmit SARS-CoV-2 to 4 contacts. Conclusions Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection is common and can be detected by analysis of saliva or NTSs. The NTS viral loads fall faster in asymptomatic individuals, but these individuals appear able to transmit the virus to others.

    Abstract: Health literacy refers to the degree to which people can access and understand health information, as well as communicate their health needs to service providers. The scale has been standardized and divided into 3 groups: Health care, prevention of disease, health promotion. Children under 3 years have immature immunological system, which can affect their development in the future. However, the health management, diseases treatment, and diseases prevention of children younger than 3 years of age depend signifcantly on the health literacy of their mothers. This study aims to describe the health literacy of mothers who have children under 3 years and some factors affecting their health literacy. Data were collected on 389 mothers of children younger than 3 years who take their children to the vaccination clinics at Hanoi Medical University and latent analysis was conducted to identify class of health literacy within the sample. Three health literacy classes were identifed. The lowest mean health literacy index was within the disease prevention dimension, where the largest number of respondents showed limited health literacy. Three distinct health literacy level were identifed and termed low (n = 35.9%), moderate (n = 243, 62.5%) and high health literacy (n = 111, 28.5%). We found that higher scores of Health Literacy Scores (HLS) closely correlated with higher educational levels, the job of mothers, the age of children and the frequency of searching for health information using the internet. There were signifcant better overall scores in HLS among parents with higher education levels (university degree or higher with more than under high school graduated).

    Abstract: E-cigarettes (e-cigarettes) have been using social media as an informative platform to promote e-cigarettes for their users. The most popular social media in Vietnam were YouTube and Facebook. The information and knowledge could affect e-cigarette user’s belief and the way they make a decision. Despite this, there is a gap in our knowledge of policy maker’s in user’s perceptions about how they feel with promotion on social media platform in Vietnam. This study aimed to describe the promotion of e-cigarettes by providers on some social networks and to describe electronic cigarette users’ feedback about videos/posts of providers on some social networks in Vietnam in 2019. Searches in major electronic databases, including Facebook and YouTube, were conducted using the following search terms: “electronic cigarette,” “electronic vaporizer,” “electronic pod,”. The video/post was selected if they’re from providers and include advertising content on the social media platform during 2019. Of the 104 e-cigarette related videos/posts retrieved, there were 27% on Facebook and 28% on YouTube. The three most common advertising contents were beneft of using e-cigarette, negative health consequences and entertainment effects.

    Abstract: Economic benefit has been analyzed for the yield of farming products when designing a farming system, while waste treatment also generates profitable energy products for this system. The economic factor is decisive in decision-making for applying waste treatment solutions for a small-scale farming system. A household farming system in the Mekong Delta generates many kinds of organic wastes, but most of the agricultural waste resources are disposed of into the environment. Methods This study approaches an analysis of economic–environmental–energy (EEE) efficiency for waste treatment of an integrated livestock-orchard (LO) system on a household scale in the Mekong Delta. This novel analysis method is based on the energy content of biomass and its cost. The EEE efficiency is optimized to gain objective functions regarding energy yield efficiency, system profit, and CO 2 sequestration for the treatment model. The algorithms are built for optimizing these objective functions. Results The optimization results show the treatment model of pyrolysis and pelleting gain all the objective functions with high efficiency. The model is efficiently applied for the LO system that generates more than 100 kg of orchard residues and 3000 kg of pig manure. The system with a charcoal oven and pellet machine is capable to gain energy efficiency due to its potential biofuel products, such as biochars and pellet products. A treatment model of composting, pyrolysis, and pelleting gives the best performance of overall EEE efficiency. Conclusions This work has proven economic benefits from integrating biogas tank, charcoal oven, and pellet machine in an integrated LO system. The system contributes not only for reducing CO 2 emissions but also for supplementing secondary renewable bioenergy, as well as for increasing incomes and thus supporting livelihoods for the local farming households.

    Abstract: Interpreting point-of-care lung ultrasound (LUS) images from intensive care unit (ICU) patients can be challenging, especially in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs) where there is limited training available. Despite recent advances in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automate many ultrasound imaging analysis tasks, no AI-enabled LUS solutions have been proven to be clinically useful in ICUs, and specifically in LMICs. Therefore, we developed an AI solution that assists LUS practitioners and assessed its usefulness in  a low resource ICU. Methods This was a three-phase prospective study. In the first phase, the performance of four different clinical user groups in interpreting LUS clips was assessed. In the second phase, the performance of 57 non-expert clinicians with and without the aid of a bespoke AI tool for LUS interpretation was assessed in retrospective offline clips. In the third phase, we conducted a prospective study in the ICU where 14 clinicians were asked to carry out LUS examinations in 7 patients with and without our AI tool and we interviewed the clinicians regarding the usability of the AI tool. Results The average accuracy of beginners’ LUS interpretation was 68.7% [95% CI 66.8–70.7%] compared to 72.2% [95% CI 70.0–75.6%] in intermediate, and 73.4% [95% CI 62.2–87.8%] in advanced users. Experts had an average accuracy of 95.0% [95% CI 88.2–100.0%] , which was significantly better than beginners, intermediate and advanced users ( p   〈  0.001). When supported by our AI tool for interpreting retrospectively acquired clips, the non-expert clinicians improved their performance from an average of 68.9% [95% CI 65.6–73.9%] to 82.9% [95% CI 79.1–86.7%] , ( p   〈  0.001). In prospective real-time testing, non-expert clinicians improved their baseline performance from 68.1% [95% CI 57.9–78.2%] to 93.4% [95% CI 89.0–97.8%] , ( p   〈  0.001) when using our AI tool. The time-to-interpret clips improved from a median of 12.1 s (IQR 8.5–20.6) to 5.0 s (IQR 3.5–8.8), ( p   〈  0.001) and clinicians’ median confidence level improved from 3 out of 4 to 4 out of 4 when using our AI tool. Conclusions AI-assisted LUS can help non-expert clinicians in an LMIC ICU improve their performance in interpreting LUS features more accurately, more quickly and more confidently.

    Abstract: Both exergy and energy analysis methodologies are used for analysing energy efficiencies in various processes, including agriculture. This study focuses on the connection of three main process components (husbandry-crop-fishpond) in a typical farming household located within an acid soil region of rural Vietnam. The concept of exergy analysis is used to underline the potential for resource efficiency in alternative processes in the agricultural system. For development of an integrated ecological system aiming towards zero emissions, the analytical methods of material cycles and energy flows utilized a set of indicators of resource efficiency in a sustainable agriculture. Results The design of the ideal integrated farming system “Agro-Industrial Zero Emissions Systems” (AIZES) can increase the system efficiency by making use of indigenous natural materials and waste reuse/recycling. Recycling waste produce energy, fish feed and fertilizer can result in a decreased environmental load of approximately half. Using exergy analysis to calculate an indicator non-renewable yield ratio (NRYR), the systems verified sustainability of agriculture production. Conclusions The farming household will be able to subsidize their fuel and electricity consumption by utilizing biogas. Surplus biogas will be distributed to proximate households, further creating sustainable goals. Biochar, created by mixing the biomass residues with local plants, will improve soil quality and pig sludge, mixed with biomass residue, will create high-quality fertilizer.

    Abstract: Long An province, located in the Mekong Delta, has a large area of acid sulfate soils, of which tremendously high acidic soil of Thanh Hoa ward. Due to the toxic factors in the high acid sulfate soil, the area suffers the harsh natural conditions that leading to livelihoods limitation in terms of freshwater supply, drainage, agricultural cultivation, and environmental sanitation as well. The study approach is to build an integrated farming system based on the close loop of material and energy flows for a typical small-scale farm in acidic areas in Long An province for sustainable agriculture. Therefore, the potential systems meet the objectives of recycling waste by the energy efficiency analysis based on energy conversion and by the economic analysis. The results show that pig production and cultivated orchard obtain high profits. Energy efficiency from raising pigs accounts for a high proportion (50%) whereas the ratio of fish production and orchard has not reached 10%. Energy efficiency analysis implies the potential options with optimal efficiencies tend to biogas treatment and composting. In addition, the three-year lifetime system is more efficient than the one-year system. However, the household financial capacity plays the most important role in selecting for the suitable farming system as well as installation of treatment systems.
