Abstract: Assessment of management commitments is required for investment in Occupational health and safety program. This systemic literature review evaluates 15 cases of Occupational health and safety (OHS) interventions to assess whether the implementation of OHS is beneficial. Search engines used in literature review are Medline, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Pubmed. Studies related to benefit cost analysis included in the search include also looking at company productivity. The focus of this analysis includes samples, design, theoretical framework, implementation OHS, validity and results. Results show,in 15 cases, cross-sectional research design looked at pre-after comparisons in the absence of control groups. The positive return on investment from the implementation of OHS is shown in 13 studies. Two other studies concluded that their chosen implementation of OHSwas not cost-effective. The main benefit is to reduce sick leave. In 3 cases the perceived benefit is an increase in productivity and quality. The conclusions in this study required a guideline for the evaluation of the implementation of OHS.

A risk assessment of gamma radiation and radon gas exposure is carried out in the uranium exploration tunnel area to protect workers from the ionizing radiation hazards in the workplace. Measurement of gamma-ray exposure and radon gas concentrations were carried out in Remaja uranium exploration tunnel and around the workers camp in Kalan Area, West Kalimantan. Gamma exposure was measured using a gamma survey meter while radon (222Rn/220Rn) using RADUET passive detector. The concentrations of radon and thoron gas inside the tunnel generally are high, ranging from 188.84 to 495.86 Bq/m3 (375.80 Bq/m3 average) and 58.07 to 340.73 Bq/m3 (189.80 Bq/m3 average) respectively. These values are above the radon reference level (300 Bq/m3)which is recommended by the International Commission on Radiation Protection (ICRP). The annual gamma effective dose reaches 147.88mSv inside the tunnel. This value is exceeding the 20 mSv dose limit value for workers. It is necessary to control the exposure by fulfilled the principle of “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA) and external radiation protection to secure workers inside the tunnel from a health issue caused by gamma-ray, radon, and thoron exposures.

Abstract: Indonesia has its emergency patient management system regulated in Public Safety Center (PSC) 119 as stated in Indonesia’s Health Ministry Regulation No. 19 (2016). An evaluation to assess the ongoing management of this system is a must to ensure its continuous development. This study assessed the ongoing emergency patient management system using instrument indicator questionnaires developed by the authors. The questionnaire consists of 28 indicators from 8 assessment aspects including: policy, planning, program implementation, communication, transportation, referral, management reviews, and emergency services. Questionnaires were distributed and completed questionnaires were received from 88 respondents from 21 provinces of Indonesia. Validity test results counted the coefficient correlation of all indicators above r value table (0.2096) and all Alpha Cronbach’s indicators value above 0,80. The value indicator is considered poor if its average score is below the average score of the overall indicators and is considered good if it is above the average overall indicator score. The assessment result there is twelve indicators from this study shows a below average value (66) . Data acquired in this study can be used as a preliminary reference for continuous improvement of Indonesia’s emergency management system operated by the PSC.
